Head of Social Media and Community
Mahana Therapeutics is creating software-based treatments for people living with chronic conditions. Mahana has an approved prescription software program for the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Founded in 2018, Mahana operates virtually with >80 employees in the US and UK. Mahana is funded by several leading healthcare and technology venture capital firms and is well funded through the planned commercial launch and development of several future products.
The Head of Social Media and Community will enhance Mahana’s social brand presence and build strong online communities through our various social media platforms. This role will drive social strategy, implementation, day-to-day community management and channel analytics of all owned social platforms. The Head of Social Media and Community will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and work cross functionally and drive a social-first strategy with fully integrated campaigns and programs that promote the business priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop social media strategy that articulates short & long-term strategic vision for priority owned social platforms aligned with business goals
- Serve as our in-house media expert, who leads the development of media plans including targeting strategies, social media mix investments, and program performance
- Serve as social analytics lead & report on analytics. Manage communication and educate broader team to help drive quarterly goals and make recommendations to grow channel benchmarks
- Manage owned social media channels growth and maintenance, focused on engagement
- Manage external agencies and publishing partners
- Partner with CMO and VP Brand Marketing to pivot and evolve as social regularly does. Reset & fulfill strategies by creating specific recommendations & deliverables including content strategy, optimizations and overall social management
- Ensure synergy across platforms, help to consistently execute Mahana’s social media voice & tone through the conception of digital campaign creative & content creation
- Plan and execute campaign content that drives community engagement
- Oversee community management & fan engagement on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
- Recommend social media strategies for monthly campaigns that contribute to the yearly social media objectives including brand campaigns, product launches etc
- Concept, develop, and implement execution of larger social campaigns, programs and breakthrough plans
- Focus on brand + influencer marketing programs and partnerships that build our consumer base through social acquisition
- Manage all social media campaign performance metrics including engagement, acquisition & associated sales. Compile and deliver post-campaign result decks to leadership, marketing successes; sharing learnings and recommend solutions
- Advocate and make recommendations around social marketing programs, messaging, campaigns
- Research and stay abreast of trends in consumer behavior, internet & social media behaviors, new technology or platforms
- Leverage new technologies and innovations that enhance digital campaigns and brand/product storytelling
Requirements:
- 6+ years marketing or brand marketing experience preferred
- 5+ years experience in paid social advertising on TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook
- Strong understanding of brand management and consumer behaviors
- Strong strategic vision and creative skills balanced by a highly analytical, hands on and detail-oriented approach
- Experience with cross-functional relationship building skills to achieve company’s goals
- Project management and planning skills, showcasing ability to push and meet project deadlines
- Background working in agency account management
- Sound judgment and the ability to make decisions and present recommendations with clarity and conviction
- Detail oriented while understanding the “big picture”
- Excellent communications, presentation and organizational skills both verbal and written
- Knowledge of digital trends and best practices – savvy about all social media channels and competitive landscape in digital
- Extensive storytelling capabilities both verbally and visually. The ability to turn data and insights into a compelling narrative that informs the strategy and creative suggestions
- Experience with platform analytics tools such as DFP, comScore, Simply Measured, Snaplytics, YouTube Analytics, Google Analytics, and Facebook Insights is key
