The Opportunity

The eBay Growth team is responsible for marketing to customers through digital marketing channels. The team owns a variety of areas including search engine marketing, affiliate marketing, partnership relations, display advertising and social marketing. In addition, they play a key role in delivering compelling and inspiring marketing content that sustains activities to acquire and retain customers.

Within the Growth organization, the Display, Social and Influencer team is looking for a Manager of Influencer Marketing to lead eBay’s Influencer strategy and execution within our Performance Marketing Channel.

The right candidate will have a creative approach, deep experience with Influencer platforms and channels, and be fluent with the digital retail landscape and social channels. Equally comfortable ‘rolling sleeves up’ and thinking long-term/strategic, s/he will work in tandem with regional marketing, product, Customer Support and other Performance Marketing teams to create concise, compelling marketing content & programs in support of eBay’s most important priorities. The ability to think strategically, be agile, facilitate operations and timelines, and understand marketing metrics and terminology will be imperative to the success of this role.

Primary Job Responsibilities

As eBay’s Influencer subject matter expert, you will be responsible for owning relationships with our influencer agencies and sub-affiliate partners, using a wide network to implement critical initiatives for retail moments, brand campaigns and vertical initiatives. You will rely on your ability to build and maintain close relationships with regional partners around the globe to achieve both channel and regional performance goals.

  • Own channel strategy including growth and testing opportunities, internal and partner-specific tech integrations
  • Own campaign workstreams from sourcing to execution, tracking and readout, as well as all associated accountability for relevant work streams
  • Develop schedules, key achievements, and action items to be socialized and used for internal teams and agency partners
  • Own performance diagnostics including reviewing campaign performance and key insights (i.e., metrics communicated, KPIs, etc)
  • Lead strategic briefing for external agencies; review digital assets upon delivery from internal and external teams to ensure brand guidelines met and marketing priorities incorporated as expected
  • Own agency/network management, lead programs with cross-functional teams including regional coordination and communication
  • Outcome ownership - post-campaign impact readouts, competitive landscape (i/e, client competitors and influencer marketing activities)
  • Own X-channel customer journey lifecycle mapping, to inform strategic imperatives, integrated tech platform opportunity

Key Skills And Qualifications

  • The right candidate has a strong bias for action, but balances it with the ability to complete in ambiguity. You possess the courage to guide where structure and vision may not yet exist, but are mindful of preserving relationships and building trust with peers and partners. You are an excellent communicator
  • 6+ years in digital marketing; the ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in influencer, social and x-channel digital performance management.
  • Relevant management consulting experience preferred or related industry experience in retail and ecommerce
  • Project management foundation a plus, with a firm understanding of marketing and creative development as it relates to project management
  • Self-starter with proven ability to work independently in a dynamic, often ambiguous fast aced environment
  • Familiarity with Marketing business and creative briefs, KPIs and metrics
  • Agile problem solver, team-oriented and solution- ocused
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and partner management
  • A keen sense of how to approach complex problems – asking the right questions and executing small, fail-fast experiments to test ideas
  • You have worked on distributed, global teams and are comfortable with inherent challenges, and are creative in approaches to getting things done
  • You work easily and well with others; you can flex workstyle to fit culture vs demanding others adapt
  • Ability to read a room & respond appropriately with the right style of engagement & subject matter expertise
  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent) required.
