The Content Creation Specialist will assist the Manager with in-house organic content creation. We’re looking for an enthusiastic creative to be the face and voice behind Michaels’ social channels. This individual will create organic content from production to distribution and be experienced in concept pitching, execution, video editing, and be comfortable in front of the camera. The role includes managing outsourced social initiatives for various campaigns. This Team Member will work closely with Influencer Marketing, Communications, Digital/Social, and Store Operations teams to ensure timely program success.
Major Activities
- Develop content ideas and execution strategy for all social channels including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube
- Create and edit weekly video content with ability to quickly identify current trends and react on impulse
- Manage outsourced social initiatives including generating estimates and managing shoot budgets. This role will work with and manage outside producers, influencers, etc when needed
- Work in close partnership with social and comms teams to execute on needs of various campaigns
- Create graphic content using graphic design platforms for IG stories, In-feed posts, and various channels as needed.

Minimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree
- Journalism, Communication, Marketing or related field
Minimum Special Certifications Or Technical Skills
- Expert of social platform mechanics and best practices
- Videography and Photography skills
- Video, photo, and graphic editing skills
Minimum Type Of Experience The Job Requires
- 2+ years marketing experience or a related field
Other
- Ability to organize and execute multiple projects
- Willingness to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent written & oral communication skills, with an ability to determine appropriate content & style for a diverse group
- Need to be very organized and detail driven
- Have a love for arts, crafts, and making!

- Retail marketing background
