Manager, Digital Publicity
Responsibilities
Role Summary:
The manager of digital publicity will collaborate with the VP of Digital Publicity to help build full-fledged digital publicity and influencer campaigns, working on Focus Features’ theatrical and premium video on demand releases. This role will help leverage our filmmakers, talent and brand to maximize each campaign.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan well thought out, digital communications solutions for domestic theatrical campaigns that integrate with the marketing, digital, publicity and in-theater marketing strategies
- Develop, tailor and pitch compelling story angles to media and key influencers
- Develop and maintain relationships with media contacts
- Explore and identify innovative opportunities to reach relevant and new audiences through partnerships, paid media, events, content creators, social media, sweeps and mailer opportunities
- Manage publicity & influencer events, including experiences, screenings, junkets and red -carpet premieres
- Attend press junkets and utilize talent access to amplify digital publicity opportunities
- Assist in filmmaker / talent handling and liaison (where applicable)
- Research and negotiate placement of content on third party sites
- Help manage, collaborate and serve as key contact to digital PR agency and social agency when it pertains to PR
- Write, edit, gain approvals and manage distribution for all digital press materials and related content
- Report the progress, status and success of current campaigns and offer solutions to improving the effectiveness of the campaign
Basic Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements
- Has strong experience in digital publicity & influencer marketing, preferably with a background from film or television
- Has a broad understanding of film distribution and the landscape of a film release lifecycle; encompassing theatrical to PVOD
- Has a record of creating best-in-class online publicity campaigns and activations, from ideation to execution
- Has experience managing high-level media relations, with a particular focus on digital channels, and maintaining awareness of new & emerging media outlets
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, extremely high attention to detail, able to manage multiple time-sensitive projects concurrently
- Awareness of current cultural zeitgeist including, but not limited to, industry developments, trends, news and DEI landscape as it relates to film and entertainment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft based software: Outlook, Word and Excel

- Must be willing and able to travel for press junkets, set visits, premieres, festival and conventions
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
