Overview

Mitel is looking for a talented communications professional to lead our North American public relations program. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a global team of communications and technology pros to build and execute public relations strategies that bring Mitel’s story to life. With your passion for storytelling, knack for memorable soundbites, ability to translate technical info into relatable content, and strong program management skills, you’ll play a lead role in positioning Mitel and our executives as thought leaders through a consistent drumbeat of earned and paid media that drives brand awareness and consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day execution for Mitel’s North American public relations program
  • Collaborate on annual, quarterly, and project-based media plans that establish clear objectives, a consistent cadence, and creative ways of connecting with core audiences
  • Develop thought leadership programs and content that position Mitel and its leaders as industry or subject matter experts
  • Build a diverse and modern media mix, including earned media coverage, contributed content, influencer marketing, and more to drive a consistent surround sound of Mitel’s key messages in the North American market
  • Collaborate with your EMEA counterpart to develop and execute concepts that are effective across geographic markets
  • Build and manage PR plans that support Mitel’s product launches, strategic initiatives and alliances, channel engagement, and M&A activities
  • Manage day-to-day relationship with Mitel’s North American PR agency to ensure alignment of strategy and messaging, along with effective use of resources and budget
  • Support and contribute to Mitel’s social media content with engaging content and news coverage to amplify exposure
  • Establish a clear understanding of Mitel’s value proposition, go-to-market routes and portfolio, ensuring you can clearly craft and evangelize core messages to media and influencers
  • Manage regular reporting for your region to demonstrate performance against KPIs, seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and sharing insights with stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 8 years experience in public relations or related field
  • Previous technology industry experience required; business communications industry is preferred
  • Excellent understanding of current PR and media strategies along with demonstrated success implementing these techniques
  • Familiarity with PR and social media tools and measurement techniques
  • Proven experience working with and coaching executive spokespeople
  • Ability to confidently communicate with a wide variety of internal and external constituents
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Skilled project manager with a proven ability to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality
  • Ability to effectively manage pressures of a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Proactive, collaborative approach to building internal and external relationships
