Title: Director of Brand Marketing

Location: Washington, D.C.

Salary: Competitive salary and benefits package based on qualifications; classified as full-time salaried; exempt and not eligible for overtime.

Reports to: Maddy Grayson, Co-Founder

Travel: Occasional travel may be required

Position Overview

We are looking for a results-driven Director of Brand Marketing to take the lead in developing successful, long-term marketing strategies for our company. As the Director of Brand Marketing, you will oversee the brand planning process with a focus on retaining current customers and increasing customer’s average annual spend. This includes developing strategies on consumer brand-interaction in order to drive increased average annual spend and retain our loyal customer base. The ideal candidate will lead the strategy, ideation, and execution of marketing campaigns through the lens of our high brand standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Campaigns will be built in alignment with leaders across the company and targeted to create brand engaging moments. These will be measured by the achievement of annual consumer goals.
  • Coordinate and lead brand amplification strategies that reach new and returning audiences across a range of channels including but not limited to PR, Partnerships, Influencers & Events
  • Work closely with our growth marketing team to ensure both our branded and commercial moments are appropriately amplified through a coordinated approach
  • Oversee our social media accounts and stay up to date with latest technology and best practices
  • Take the lead on building strong partnership and collaboration opportunities to drive brand awareness within the industry creating press-worthy moments
  • Manage the brand marketing budget ensuring initiatives are appropriately measured and reported on to guide the business on what is or is not working
  • Work alongside the product team delivering insight into macro trends to ensure we stay at the forefront of product development as guided by our brand strategy
  • Use significant expertise and high judgment to design the right team structure and mechanisms to meet long-term business goals
  • Develop specific campaigns to create and maintain high levels of customer interaction
  • Forecast sales performance trends and act proactively to increase our market segment
  • Monitor competition and provide ideas to stand out by using our brands competitive advantages

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of work experience in brand marketing, preferably at an apparel company
  • 8-10 years of work experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies, preferably at an apparel company
  • BS degree in Marketing or relevant field

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • A team-orientated leader with the proven ability to mentor and develop creative talent
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • A self-starter with the ability to navigate ambiguous situations and thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Effective cross-team collaborator with the ability to work across multiple creative projects and meet deadlines
  • The demonstrated ability to use date, performance metric, and customer insights and data to inform and defend strategic recommendations
  • Hands-on ownership of fashion-related branding and campaign work
  • Experience concepting and producing social-first marketing content
  • Intimate knowledge of influencer marketing trends and leading fashion influencers
