About the role:  

This position will lead the development and implementation of Limeade’s PR and Social Media function as well as aid in placing Limeade spokespeople on 3rd party stages. The primary responsibility of this role is to execute PR and corporate communications initiatives, including company announcements, media and influencer relationships, media coverage, organic enterprise-wide social media as a key component of brand awareness and thought leadership initiatives to elevate the Limeade brand and provide a halo for top of the funnel awareness. The position also sets a solid foundation of a strong bench of influencers to amplify our brand.

This is a fantastic opportunity to act as the backbone of the PR, Media, and Corporate Communications team and reimagining and building a new function that supports both brand and business goals, while demonstrating strategic content development and storytelling skills and evolving key programs that position Limeade as a market leader. 

We’re looking for a go-getter with 2-4 years of experience in public relations and social media. This position requires a stellar writer, creative thinker, and natural communicator who can tell our story in a compelling, human way. 

 Responsibilities:  

Traditional Media Relations

  • Connect with journalists, bloggers, and media outlets to place stories about our company news and other initiatives
  • Drive a high rate of work with targeted email, cold calls and press hits measured on a daily and monthly basis. 
  • Drive Limeade’s PR strategy and own execution
  • Act as day-to-day press point of contact: field press inquiries, manage crisis communications, respond to media requests for bylines, data, interviews, information, etc.
  • Secure regular unique articles and speaking opportunities about the company story, culture and vision in top media outlets
  • Own and shape a calendar of narratives to generate press coverage around key times of year, marketing campaigns and product launches
  • Uncover/news-jack proactive media relations opportunities 

Social Media

  • Manage Limeade social media channels
  • Build and execute on a competitive social media content calendar designed to break through the noise of the market
  • Enable every Limeade employee to be a brand ambassador via their social media accounts

Content Development

  • Support company announcements end-to-end: write and review press materials, including press releases, bylines, blog posts, and organic social media syndication. Manage the approval and distribution process from start to finish working with internal teams to deploy and post on time.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure integration of PR, social, influencer marketing, and speaker bureau to cross-pollinate brand and business marketing efforts
  • Turn customer case studies and research from The Limeade Institute into newsworthy story angles for media
  • Oversee the strategy, execution and reporting of all Limeade social media platforms to amplify our message to a range of audiences.
  • In time, build out speaker bureau and influencer marketing strategy to amplify our brand and our products on key stages and via industry a-listers.

Team Operations 

  • Oversee management of media lists and other foundational team resources 
  • Oversee and executive on organic social media strategy
  • Monitor industry news and report on relevant trends 
  • Use tracking tools to report on Limeade coverage and competitive share-of-voice 
  • Track, monitor and evaluate placements, news & information and produce monthly coverage reports, including project management trackers and PR activities calendar
  • Develop success metrics and sharing results with the rest of the team and leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or another related field 
  • 2-4 years of experience in a PR, Media Relations, Social Media, or Corporate Communications. Agency experience is a plus. 
  • Creative, ambitious and provocative storyteller that will grab the interest of media and other audiences 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong social and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and project management skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical mind and independent problem-solving skills with in-depth knowledge of industry best practices. Analytical experience measuring outcomes of sales and/or PR outreach.
  • Ability to utilize sales and negotiation skills — you get a rush from cold-calling and PR hits energize you.
  • Ability to look at data and research to tell stories that captivate readers and encourage them to share your stories.
  • Ability to demonstrate our values in an on-going and consistent way
