Summary
This Senior Marketing & Communications Manager will partner with the Senior Director, Brand Marketing as the driving force behind commercial activation for the entire Milani Cosmetics portfolio including both new & core properties. Focused on the North America market, this pivotal role will lead the development and execution of comprehensive 360° retailer and social-first campaign strategies to drive awareness, engagement and conversion for the Milani brand.
The ideal candidate will have a strong marketing activation foundation while also being a savvy social & PR storyteller with analytical acumen who can translate trends and key learnings into winning campaign strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional development & execution of marketing activation plans including in-store animation, retailer promotional strategies, social content development, PR outreach and competitive analysis to assure successful commercialization and in-market execution of product launches while also driving for continued growth on base business.
- Work in close collaboration with the Sales team and Sr. Director of Trade Marketing to understand and integrate customer strategies into business and brand plans.
- Prepare and deliver account line review presentations highlighting brand performance, introducing upcoming launches & related 360° support plans as well as proposed planogram updates.
- Use syndicated data, internal sell-thru data and market insights to monitor performance and ensure the brand is tracking against set goals (market share, sales, portfolio performance, and brand positioning) - recommend and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Maximize the effectiveness of marketing plans through a deep understanding of the brand positioning, target consumers, and ongoing performance measurement of ROI
- Develop yearlong PR & earned + owned social strategies for Milani that amplify brand storytelling to drive owned channel growth, awareness, engagement & conversion across platforms while aligning with North America Marketing objectives.
- Partner with the PR agency & Social Media Coordinator in the creation of the master social & PR content calendars detailing partnerships, planned posts, community building moments & any other social tactics supporting upcoming launches & re-support of heroic core focus items.
- Seek out and foster relationships with brand appropriate influencers (of varying scale) and respective talent management to proliferate ongoing earned and owned content creation that keeps Milani top of mind for Multiethnic Gen Z & Millennial consumers.
- Function as internal social media expert with an in-depth understanding of influencer marketing, content formats, social platforms, performance tracking tools & social guidelines + regulations translating this knowledge into actionable strategic recommendations.
- Oversee always on organic influencer outreach including proactive product mailers, fulfilling inbound product requests, and nurturing relationships with new and existing influencer brand fans
- Monitor, analyze and report on owned and competitive social content + campaign performance leveraging insights to continually seek out amplification opportunities with both paid influencer partners and whitelisting of strong UGC.
- Lead the social + influencer aspect of all campaigns including talent relations, content creation + briefing, community management, contract development/negotiations (deliverables, terms, etc.) and initiative performance reporting
- Work with cross-functional partners in Marketing, Sales & Creative to bring influencer supported campaigns to life with cohesive 360 in-store and online approach (e.g. influencer product or PPK collaborations).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
- Minimum 5 years of brand marketing ideally with direct or adjacent experience managing social media & PR
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully build and lead collaborative cross-functional relationships with internal and external partners to garner support and buy-in towards a desired outcome
- Proven strategic marketing execution with knowledge of Color Cosmetics market/consumer trends
- Strong project management, analytical, P&L & syndicated data fundamentals.
- Public relations, communications, social media and influencer marketing experience with a strong understanding of influencer and content management tools and platforms.
- Outstanding written, oral, and presentation-based communications skills with the ability to clearly articulate and present strategies, recommendations and results.
- Highly organized and results-oriented with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Fundamental understanding of the digital ecosystem and how web, mobile, social, search and e-commerce channels work together. Understanding of integrated marketing and the role digital plays in the marketing mix.
- Ability to identify and foster strong relationships with up-and-coming creator talent.
- The position requires on-site availability and presence at the Culver City HQ, at least 2 times per week.
