The Director of Social Media will have the opportunity to reimagine our entire social presence, owning all of earned and owned media. They will be responsible for growing our social media strategy, evolving our social channels and building the Jupiter community. We are looking for someone who is passionate about our mission and can help us bring it to life through beautiful content and meaningful experiences.
Through thoughtful community management, influencer/ambassador program scaling, and an innovative content strategy you will curate a social footprint that embodies our voice and elevates our brand. The ideal candidate has native mastery of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest management and proven experience scaling these channels. You will own the management of our social media communities and influencer/ambassador outreach and report to the VP of Growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of the visual aesthetic, brand voice, content direction and growth strategies across all organic social media channels;
- Daily management of social media: scheduling posts, selecting tags and supporting content, tagging products, adding landing page links, engaging with the community, sharing future content ideas and managing campaign briefs and timelines for launches;
- Identify new social channels and launch a cohesive customer experience/messaging across each of the content platforms;
- Create an extraordinary community experience (customers, influencers and ambassadors); build and execute community engagement strategies across platforms to drive engagement KPIs, follower growth and drive traffic to the site;
- Collaborate with internal and external partners on asset creation, copy development and posting optimizations to curate an elevated, engaging social presence;
- Manage and own the relationship with the PR agency, celebrity/editorial gifting, earned media and content partnerships to expand reach and engagement for the brand;
- Plan and execute video/clip content strategy to scale into emerging platforms as well as strategy to work with content creators on these platforms;
- Scale and optimize the Social Influencer and Ambassador programs. Identify, pitch, and onboard influencers and ambassadors for short and long term strategic partnerships;
- Be a guardian of the brand voice and positioning. Understand the voice and tone of the brand to manage content creation and communication with our audience
- Manage current set of social media tools including Juius, Canvas and Later. Research new tools, platforms, strategies and partners to optimize social media.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of social media leadership experience, helping define world-class, elevated beauty, fashion or lifestyle brands across social platforms. Agency experience is a plus;
- Comprehensive understanding across social platforms, including video-based social media platforms, specifically, TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, SnapChat and Facebook;
- Proven experience in building social communities inclusive of large and diverse audiences, successful track record of growing audience size and engagement;
- Experience building + scaling influencer/ambassador programs and contracting content creators:
- Deep understanding and point of view on social media trends. Constantly working to learn new trends, reading leading blogs, following thought leaders and staying abreast of the latest content, product, and marketing trends in social media;
- Elevated aesthetic and commitment to consistently providing a luxurious experience to inspire our community;
- Ability to storytell, optimize programs and build strategies through the use of data, analytical tools, and research;
- Leadership and experience managing team members, consultants, agencies (specifically PR and celebrity agencies) and interns;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be comfortable; presenting to stakeholders across the business and communicating with customers in the brand voice;
- Organized and able to manage multiple projects, priorities and timelines;
- Creative, collaborative and confident with the ability to communicate and execute ideas;
- Ability to ideate and create written and visual content that resonates with a diverse audience and grows the brand reach.
