As Director of Integrated Marketing (Activation), you oversee the post-sale team that executes our integrated ad sales marketing campaigns for our client partners. Your north star is guiding and supporting the team to deliver a superior level of client service and campaign management, from shepherding campaigns smoothly from Strategy (pre-sale) to Activation (post-sale), to ultimately executing successful, memorable campaigns that keep our clients coming back for more. You will work in lockstep with your counterparts on Integrated Marketing, Sales, Branded, Community, Design, Events, and more to bring our award-winning campaigns to life and continually refine our gold standard of execution, project management, and collaboration. This role has a heavy emphasis on team management and process development, as Activation is the largest team within the largest department at HCM and plays the role of traffic conductor among many teams at the company. While not an emphasis of this role, it does also offer the opportunity for you to run a few campaigns of your own. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Integrated Marketing, directly manages senior members of the Activation team, and sits on the company’s Leadership Team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead the Integrated Marketing Activation team and help facilitate team success, productivity, and morale
  • Directly manage 3-5 senior team members (out of 10 total Activation team members)
  • Manage resource allocation for the Activation team, strategically assigning campaign leads
  • Recruit, interview, hire and onboard new team members as needed
  • Oversee the execution of all integrated marketing campaigns across digital, community (influencer, ambassadorships), and experiential product lines
  • Lead by example in modeling exceptional client service and relationship building, successful campaign management, and gaining client trust and renewal business
  • Serve as an escalation point for your direct reports and resource for the team as a whole, providing mentorship, guidance, and problem-solving
  • Continuously develop internal processes, tools and systems that drive efficient campaign development, execution, optimization, and reporting
  • Regularly meet with other internal stakeholders to refine cross-departmental collaboration and processes
  • Be an expert on all HCM ad sales marketing products and help propel further growth and innovation
  • Collaborate with your counterparts in Strategy, Sales, and Planning to provide strategic recommendations and insights in the pre-sale phase
  • Facilitate solutions to win business while providing checks and balances and raising post-sale considerations impacting campaign success such as inventory, timelines, and budgets

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of full-time experience in an integrated marketing role at a publisher and/or creative agency, with a focus on post-sale responsibilities
  • 2+ years of team management experience with strong desire to manage a team and collaborate closely with stakeholders across the entire organization
  • Track record of success personally managing large, complex integrated campaigns across digital, influencer, and experiential (experience with all 3 strongly preferred)
  • Exceptional communication, client services, and problem-solving skills
  • Superb organizational and project management skills, with natural inclination toward seeking innovation and efficiency gains
