Hi, nice to meet you. We are Shmoody, a new app helping people with depression and anxiety feel better now, and grow over time.
What’s that, you say? You’re a nerdy creator on the interwebs — at the same time, you kind of hate the way social media is designed to work against mental wellness?
Boy have we got the job for you.
Shmoody is a rapidly growing startup here in Austin, TX (y’all). We’re looking for our next team member to help build our mental wellness community and turn frowns into smiles from sea to shining sea.
Here are some of the responsibilities of this position:
-Update, manage, and grow Shmoody's social media accounts
-Create aesthetically awesome (and funny!) Instagram posts in Canva
-Help build our TikTok and Twitter accounts
-Manage and grow our social media marketing, including influencer marketing
-Assist with data analytics, tracking social media posts and marketing data
-Contribute to new content creation
Qualifications:
-Self starter. Yeah, we know every company says this but for real, ain’t nobody got time at a startup for detailed task lists
-Experience creating awesome social media content, preferably including graphic design (such as in Canva)
-Ability to write impactful and funny copy
-Ability to build and manage relationships, including social media influencers
-Marketing know how
-Missionary for mental health, not a mercenary
-Local here in Austin - remote work is fine occasionally, but we regularly meet in person.
-Also, no jerks. At Shmoody we have a strict no-jerks rule.
Bonus points for:
-Artistic skill such as illustration and photography
-Audio and video production skills
-An analytical or statistical background (cue Bill Nye).
-Amazing personal or professional social accounts that you’ve managed and grown.
This is a full-time position that would start on a contract basis to make sure it’s a good fit for everyone. Pay would not be a lot to start but for the right person this position can transition into a permanent position with higher pay, benefits, and equity. As we grow, there is a path to becoming CMO, leading a team.
