THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a seasoned executive to join the Social Media & Community team leading our global audiences to bring together fans who are united by their love of motivational content.

The successful candidate will demonstrate both a strategic and global mindset and have a passion and proven track record of leading leaders. As a core member of the Brand & Comms leadership team, they will help to establish and implement our vision of connecting with our audiences, wherever they are.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Manage and inspire the global Social Media & Community team across all Gympass’ priority markets.
  • Drive decision making, planning and launch of any new market, social media platform or sub-brand.
  • Lead strategic frameworks, goal setting (including growth goals) and brand management across all audiences and platforms autonomously. Synthesizing overall business objectives, editorial/creative perspective, and audience needs to drive strategies and tactics that optimize outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with key cross-functional partners such as Growth, Content, Comms, Brand, Employer Branding, Enterprise, Partnerships, ELTs, among others to align and drive overall business objectives.
  • Champion and evangelize social media strategies and plans; educate and influence stakeholders.
  • Gather and analyze large amounts of social media data to size, develop appropriate distribution plans, and gain a deep understanding of audience viewing and social patterns; optimize strategies and surface untapped opportunities.
  • Responsible for setting the global editorial line and content calendar for social media and partnering with the Creative team to ensure the delivery of high-quality content.
  • Collaborate with the growth team to uncover synergies between organic + paid efforts and experiment with paid social tactics that raise awareness and engagement.
  • Lead global influencer, ambassador and talent (celebrities, athletes, etc) strategies, campaigns and plans including but not limited to contract negotiations, talent fees, deliverables, etc.
  • Develop and implement social media response communications processes and procedures, including building a plan, a list of stakeholders and responsibilities and a clear chain of command, for crisis and cultural climate (ie COVID)
  • Stay ahead of audience habits; understanding of today’s fitness, wellness and social landscape to create and inspire the teams to craft strategies and plans that effectively capitalize on emerging consumer trends and cultural moments and drive conversation and/or awareness.
  • Create and oversee social-first campaigns that increase talkability and brand awareness aligned with company values and goals.
  • Inspire creative excellence & innovation and risk taking with the goal of igniting conversation and engagement amongst our communities leading by example.
  • Define success metrics and be responsible for ensuring their implementation through all of the work of the team.
  • Understand and monitor SEO and web traffic metrics as it relates to social media (how our content and strategy affects business goals such as traffic, searchability, discovery) and working closely with the SEO team to help build and maintain our digital reputation.
  • Build and own effective business relationships with key platforms such as Meta (Instagram, FB), Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Manage external vendors, tools and agencies, including facilitating RFPs, contracts, onboarding, and day-to-day management.
  • Oversee and manage budget and resources.

WHO YOU ARE

  • A professional with 8+ years of editorial or social media experience (wellness/fitness experience is not necessary but a plus).
  • Deep understanding of leading, hiring and managing a global team across different time zones.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability aligning cross-functional teams towards common goals.
  • A highly effective, clear and inspiring communicator across multiple audiences including clients, partners, employees, members, etc with a knack for simplifying complex topics.
  • A social media buff with pop culture orientation; consumes and enjoys social media as a user.
  • Highly skilled at organization, planning and internal & external stakeholder management at all levels.
  • High tolerance for change with the ability to manage and successfully balance multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous, complex and dynamic environment with a keen eye for detail.
  • Operational excellence, including the ability to problem solve and bring scale to both your work and the work of your team so change can happen quickly, consistently and efficiently.
  • Anticipates team and business needs by proactively identifying issues/obstacles and opportunities that must be tackled in the future and effectively create and present solutions.
  • Excellent judgment with a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive with the capacity to remain calm under pressure.
  • Highest quality standards; expects the same of direct reports/team and those working with you.
