PR Intern (Summer 2022)

JOB SUMMARY:
L’Occitane’s North America Communications Team is looking for a PR & Influencer Intern to represent our brand to external stakeholders such as online/offline influencers, journalists, publishers, agency partners and media outlets. The right candidate should possess traditional communications and PR / marketing skills, and be interested in the media space, as well as influencer marketing and social media.
This individual should have a pulse on trends, and a creative lens to drive cultural relevance to the L’Occitane business. They should embody an entrepreneurial spirit who is eager to learn the different facets of PR and influencer marketing, and able to multitask across necessary channels.
Reporting into the Experiential Marketing team, this individual will help drive overall awareness and product exposure across the US market. This role will report to the Senior Public Relations Manager, in partnership with the Associate Public Relations Manager on a day-to-day basis.
JOB RESPONSABILITIES:
- PR
- Facilitate weekly news recap consisting of relevant partnerships, trends, and industry updates
- Manage sample replenishment and organization between distribution center and media contacts
- Assist in preparation of PR needs for press launches, store events and mailings
- Lead weekly coverage report updates
- Draft media lists for key campaign launches and on trend seasonal moments
- Write seasonal PR media pitches for press consideration
- Own always-on tracker for PR placements
- Influencer
- Own organic influencer list, and add on-brand potential partners ongoing
- Manage product send outs during partnership campaigns and organic mailer send-outs
- Track daily influencer content that features L’Occitane
- Share recommendations on new potential influencer partners
- Passion for the Tik Tok space, and growing the brand’s potential influencer beauty partners there
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to come into NYC office 3 days a week
EDUCATION
- Rising Junior or Senior college student with minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher
Experience
- 1-2 years of public relations or communications experience in the beauty or CPG industry
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MuckRack
- Passion for all things PR & influencer with an appetite to learn new skills and keep up with the latest trends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be personable yet persistent
- Have a pulse point on trends and willingness to understand the many facets of the L’Occitane brand
- Understand the brand identity and core commitments, and how they translate to impactful media and influencer partnerships
- Be highly organized and bring a high level of attention to detail and intellectual rigor, while working under tight deadlines and on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work well with multiple teams
- Ability to multi-task and work within provided deadlines.
- Has an entrepreneurial attitude; excited about testing new products
- Needs to be interested in exploring new trends on social media
- Must be enthusiastic, creative, collaborative, and entrepreneurial and have a go-getter attitude no matter how large or small the project
- Graphic/visual design and video/multi-media production experience a plus
- Knowledge of Tribe Dynamics influencer platform, a plus.
