To this end, we are looking for a seasoned and dynamic leader who will join us as Director of Educator Marketing and lead the development and execution of high-impact, educator-focused, marketing initiatives and engagement programs.

This is a truly multidimensional and mission-driven role - you will have the opportunity to listen to educators' pedagogical needs in their quest to best support students on their learning journey, while also developing meaningful connections and sharing impactful resources to support educators' teaching practices. We realize that this position is unique, and we are open to candidates who come from a wide range of previous experiences and perspectives. However, the successful candidate will have experience working directly with faculty and administrators within higher education, a proven track record of developing new programs and initiatives aimed at improving user/client engagement and overall success, and the desire to be an integral part of accelerating the growth and success of an innovative education-tech company.

You will report to our VP of Academics and lead a small team of marketers and educators while working very closely with the broader Brand & Marketing team and other cross-functional partners.

Here are some ways you'll make an impact:

  • Lead Course Hero's educator marketing strategy, synthesizing content marketing, event strategy, and partnership management with the potential to also include influencer marketing and paid media
  • Develop marketing strategies and effective messaging to better communicate Course Hero's value and commitment to the educator community, and differentiate our brand to reflect the company's values and offerings
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members internally, as well as external agencies/partners to run events, source speakers, develop and manage sponsored content, and create engaging marketing campaigns that clearly communicate our brand promise across all marketing touchpoints
  • Create compelling and innovative marketing initiatives to bring Course Hero's brand to life, inspiring new and existing educators to trust Course Hero as a leading resource for students and educators
  • Use research and insights to monitor and measure the company's long-term brand awareness and affinity among educators and adapt programs accordingly
  • Be a brand champion and motivate the team to protect the integrity of the brand by partnering cross-functionally to efficiently scale marketing programs while actively managing brand reputation
  • Hire, lead, mentor, and develop a team of compassionate, growth-minded marketers to scale our overall strategy and impact on educators

Are you our Director of Educator Marketing?

  • You've earned a BA/BS degree and you have 12+ years of relevant work experience, including demonstrated and repeated success developing marketing programs within the field of higher education
  • A highly strategic, creative and analytical leader who has broad based knowledge and experience to drive and scale coordinated, cross-channel marketing initiatives & programs that meet organizational measures of success
  • Known to be an inspiring and passionate leader who can set clear goals and empower their team and cross-functional partners to think creatively, execute with compassion and achieve desired outcomes in a highly collaborative environment
  • Has experience working within a highly cross-functional and integrated marketing department and has demonstrated success establishing and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external partners
  • Comfortable presenting data and strategic plans to executives and partners, getting their buy-in, managing expectations and ensuring deliverables are met
  • Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, thrive in a fast-paced environment, adjust to changing priorities and problem-solve, and keep team on track to deliver results
  • Prior experience hiring and developing a multi-disciplinary team and ensuring that they are organized and resourced to work effectively together
  • Possesses an intimate understanding of the world of academe, a passion for educational technology and digital learning, and the ability to think critically about industry trends that impact Course Hero and the educator community

Bonus Points:

  • Has worked in a university setting and/or experience with faculty professional development programs
  • Experience creating marketing programs in international markets
  • Comfortable with event and content technology and tools including HubSpot
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Creative, Communications, Digital Marketing and Social Media teams
