THE ROLE

The role of Clairol Global Senior Brand Manager – Natural Instincts, reporting to and working closely with the Clairol Global Senior Marketing Director, will be responsible for driving the global sub-brand’s vision and positioning, presenting recommendations based on consumer and market data, and influencing senior stakeholders to get alignment and approval; as well as developing new initiatives to drive both product innovations and core base business for our “clean beauty”, fastest growing sub-brand worldwide. The role requires strong teamwork with cross functional partners such as Research & Development, Digital, Creative, Trade Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain teams; as well as collaboration with local markets, such as US, UK, Canada & ANZ. Key Responsibilities

  • LEVERAGE KEY INSIGHTS FROM EXTENSIVE ANALYSIS TO INFORM DECISIONS AND DEVELOP STRATEGY AND RECOMMMENDATIONS:
  • Support the Clairol Global Senior Marketing Director on brand strategy definition
  • Enable decision-making through recommendation to drive future business opportunities leveraging data analysis, consumer insights and commercial opportunities.
  • Drive the agenda for Clairol Natural Instincts’ vision and positioning, conducting regular consumer & market data analysis to provide insight and recommendations to the Senior Director on its health and areas for improvement or change.
  • Audit, enable and enforce adoption of the sub-brand’s guidelines with the markets, through a collaborative approach; and through the communication toolboxes you develop.
  • Additional! tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • LEAD PRODUCT & COMMERCIAL INNOVATIONS CREATING NEW BUSINESS OPPORTU NITIES:
  • Lead new product innovation development (including 5Y brand big bets as well as consumer centric initiatives supporting core base business to recruit new consumers; lead & develop whitespace opportunities and drive awareness & consideration.
  • Lead initiative development from concepts based on consumer data and competitive analysis to formula, packaging as well as commercialization, in partnership with the global multifunctional team to ensure a timely and successful launch.
  • Seek for disruptive and better product innovations or commercial initiatives to be more competitive and continue to drive consumer relevance with a creative mindset.
  • Partner with the CMI (Consume & Market Insight) team to to master consumer insights and be able to create new products and commercial opportunities, ideate new storytelling angles based on findings from consumer habits, practices and unmet needs, social media listening and trends.
  • Own the initiative development gates process and be accountable for key milestones.
  • Participate in creating the 5Y innovation and activation masterplan to achieve brand growth through base business support and innovation pipeline.
  • DEVELOP 360 ACTIVATION PLAN:
  • Develop holistic toolboxes including communication assets required to bring to life the sub-brand’s innovation program: from packaging and claims, to video assets and point of sales materials.
  • Lead creative briefing in collaboration with the design, digital & influencer marketing, and trade marketing teams for all brand initiatives.
  • FINANCE & BUDGET
  • Fully accountable for you’re the sub-brand’s innovations P&L, from development to execution.
  • Responsible for the yearly A&CP budget delivery within a 1% tolerance for Natural Instincts, leading day to day tracking and management.

Essential Requirements:

  • 6+ years’ experience in brand management and/or product marketing, ideally in a global environment. Experience in the beauty industry is strongly preferred.
  • A Master’s degree or MBA is required in Marketing or Business Management.
  • English proficiency is a must
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Strong strategic, critical thinking with proven analytical skills. Problem-solving oriented.
  • Very strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, operational discipline and ability to work in autonomy, under general direction, and deliver timely output requirements.
  • Highly collaborative — strong ability to work well with other cross-functional partners — with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Passion for beauty, relentless creative thinking and brand building, and ability to develop quickly category and product expertise.
  • Excellent PC skills especially MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
