The role
We are looking for a cloud-savvy social media manager to elevate our media and brand voice and expand our audience of developers. Bring your memes, bring your gifs, and above all, please bring your witty tech banter. We’re searching for a creative voice, and someone who loves creating content and connecting with developers online. This role will be responsible for generating a broad spectrum of social media content and developing our paid marketing channels. This will include leading tests on social platforms, strategy for social and paid media platforms, supporting our mission through audience generation, new user acquisition and retention, and brand awareness.
Role profile
- 1-3 years experience in developer marketing or social media, ideally within the developer tools or cloud infrastructure space
- 1+ year experience with social media-driven growth strategies such as content marketing or influencer marketing
- Independent learner interested in new platforms, tools, and content types - ability to be successful on any media platform and has deep understanding of digital marketing fundamentals
- Data driven and comfortable with common social media measurement best practices.
- Background knowledge and experience with growth and optimization tactics (i.e., A/B testing)
- Interest in open-source software, developer-led communities, being part of a growing software-as-a-service business
Primary Skills and Responsibilities:
- Getting creative and finding a fun, friendly, and engaging voice to tell the Slim.AI story across existing and new media channels
- Tell Slim's unique story and value to developers in the form of tweets, posts, videos, infographics, and events.
- “Speaking developer” by blending technical content with voice and humor
- Creating and testing content types, technologies and platforms to increase interaction with developers
- Deeply comfortable posting and monitoring social media platforms, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Twitch, YouTube (and a desire to add more channels!)
- Evolving paid marketing campaigns for user acquisition in both CPC and Social channels
- Highly organized and thrives working cross functionally in a fast-paced environment
Scope
- Working with a small-but-powerful growth team, you’ll be wholly responsible for filling out a weekly social media calendar promoting all the goings on at a fast-paced startup seeking to help developers ship their apps
- You’ll seek opportunistic, timely, and relevant spots to showcase new content, new content types, and new promotions, testing and learning what works best.
- You’ll interact with developers, community members, and partners adopting Slim’s developer tools and understand how to communicate with them
- You’ll craft, schedule, and post regular updates to Slim.AI’s social media accounts, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Discord, YouTube, and the Slim.AI community
- With our content team, you’ll develop technical content for developers that is accurate, helpful, engaging, and fun, along with media assets like Gifs, Videos, and Infographics.
- With our Growth team, you’ll develop and test strategies, promotions, and campaigns for increasing engagement on social media
- You’ll build and maintain a consistent marketing voice and presence
- You’ll partner with product teams to develop product-driven social marketing campaigns
Preferred Skills
- Developer relations or developer marketing experience, preferably for a dev tools or cloud company
- Content development tools, including but not limited to images, video, Canva, and blogging software
- Paid social and AdWords experience - awareness of or experience with boosting posts and developing paid / SEM campaigns preferred
- International experience to reach a diverse, worldwide audience
- Video production and marketing
- Demand Generation strategy and experience
