A leading and lifestyle full service - Wally’s Wine & Spirits, LLC is searching for a Vice President of Marketing & Social Media to join its team. This is a full time, not a remote position.

Must Haves

  • 4-year degree

+Minimum of 5-8 years of digital marketing experience

+Proven experience in hospitality and food industry

  • Proven experience leading strategy and strategy creation
  • Experience in the restaurant, fine wine, and gourmet cause marketing and/or tech services / new media is ideal
  • Comprehensive understanding of retail marketing tactics, technology, best practices
  • Strong corporate finance experience and a keen understanding of how operations shape the P&L and vice versa
  • Desire to be part of a small, highly collaborative team
  • Curious, quick learner willing to invest the time/bandwidth to achieve, the company’s high standards and brand mission.

The Vice President of Marketing & Social Media’s primary responsibility is honing the company’s value proposition and delivering it across various media and customer touchpoints. The VP, Marketing enriches the brand’s relationships with our existing customer and attracts new ones, yielding incremental sales, profits, and an ever-more-fortified market position. This position will work on a day to day with the company’s top executives.

The VP, Marketing oversees multiple discrete operational units, each with day-to-day management in place:

  • E-commerce and online marketing
  • Wallywine.com
  • Email marketing
  • Online marketing: Social media marketing/advertising & Search marketing
  • Catalog Production
  • Customer Service
  • Direct customer communication, call center operations
  • Customer-facing policies & procedures
  • Product Development

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with other senior management on strategic planning and corporate development
  • Leadership, mentorship, coordination and professional development of direct reports and their respective teams
  • Long-term product development to keep Wally’s Wine & Spirits fresh and relevant
  • Generate and/or evaluate partnership opportunities
  • Demand forecasting, annual/seasonal and long-term - ie. Collaborating with operations to align “top down” forecasts with “bottom up” production planning
  • Evaluation/implementation/optimization of additional selling channels (other marketplaces)
  • Departmental budgeting including wages and all variable marketing activities
  • Catalog planning & circulation management
  • Database marketing, analytics
  • Vendor selection, negotiation, management
  • Develop and implement global social media strategies across all client social channels and determine the most efficient mix of channels to influence positive business outcomes
  • Partner with creative and production teams on social shoots, from concept to post-production.
  • Develop influencer marketing strategies, tactics, and activations
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment between account, creative, media, strategy and PR
  • Work closely with external media agencies, internal social media teams and content creators to ensure organic and paid social channels are connected and amplified
  • Oversee all reporting and social analytics to ensure all strategies and tactics are tracking against goals and KPIs
  • Stay on top of industry trends and mine opportunities within partnerships, emerging platforms, and new product betas
  • Evaluate and recommend tools for social media management, reporting and other analytical needs
  • Pitch new business
  • Develop, grow, and manage teams

Wally's is a company with a 50 year history as the Number One Wine Store in Los Angeles (Zagat Guide.) Six years ago we launched a new concept, a restaurant/wine store in Beverly Hills offering Farmer's Market Driven, Southern French/Mediterranean/Californian Cuisine. Since then we have been an amazing success, and the restaurant was awarded Wine Spectator's coveted Grand Award (only 91 restaurants in the world possess this distinction) in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020! We opened our second restaurant/wine store in this concept in Santa Monica in 2019, and recently opened our third in Resorts World Las Vegas in Summer 2021.
