Job Description

We’re in the process of launching our mobile app and are looking for a Head of Marketing to manage and grow a team and work with our external agency. You will be responsible for concepting, nurturing, curating, and understanding our animal-focused video content community, and directing the activities of creators, storytellers, and our social media team. You will help architect Zoomie's marketing planning and execution alongside our CEO. We are looking for individuals who are resourceful, get excited about working with animal content creators, nonprofits and rescues, and a team that is mission-driven and bring positivity to the work environment.

The ideal candidate will be able to view tasks through both strategic and executional lenses with an eye on both long term goals and near term tasks. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an exciting new mission-driven social good network and influence the future of the platform. This role has a huge opportunity for growth and to really chart your own path as you help creators tell their unique stories on our platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with diverse creator communities that are aligned to the creator community strategy using data and analytical insights
  • Lead content vision and strategy alongside your agency and internal teams, and jump in wherever is required to drive our mission forward on multiple social media platforms and with many types of organizations.
  • In concert with the VP of Customer Experience and our Happiness Team, establish and nurture a robust community around our product and mission
  • Participate in and lead all strategic creator meetings.
  • Develop parternships and recommend strategic placements for Zoomie with top organizations
  • Manage complex negotiations with top creators and their management teams along with securing the internal support necessary for an exceptional launch and ongoing relationships with creators
  • Develop and execute a content calendar and strategy with the Content Manager
  • Manage a portfolio of creators and share best practices to help maximize video views, audience growth and creator retention alongside our Marketing team
  • Develop and lead retention strategies to ensure long-term engagement of onboarded creators including on-site creator workshop events, networking socials, and lead the partner (creator) promotions strategy to improve the app and app-store ratings along with your team
  • Oversee content performance
  • Oversee and manage a budget along with your team
  • Work with the Engineering team to monitor KPI performance and provide meaningful insights for content/campaign optimization.
  • Build scalable support workflows for creators along with the VP of Customer Experience, so we can efficiently troubleshoot any and every issue

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree preferred; years of experience can contribute towards this requirement.
  • 6+ years experience in media or content and community focused startups, with a focus on digital initiatives and partnerships
  • 4+ years experience working with creators, talent management, agency, partner/program management
  • At least 4 years proven experience managing, measuring, engaging with and growing content-driven communities.
  • Extensive experience working cross-functionally and with all levels of management
  • Insanely organized. You know what's happening up to the minute with your team and can show your work
  • Deep understanding of the online creator landscape and/or experience as a Insta / TikTok creator or influencer manager, with a passion for finding, developing and managing creators. *TikTok and Instagram marketing and content pipeline/creation experience is required.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and professional communication skills
  • Leader who can conceptualize and execute marketing campaigns and manage people and priorities effectively
  • Superior attention-to-detail, multi-tasking, and time management skills
  • A team player who is accountable, proactive, and solution-oriented
  • Proven track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, strong attention to detail, and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable with a team that operates globally across timezones (although our US team will mostly adhere to PST hours, we have teammates in Europe, India, APAC, and North America currently). Familiar with Slack, GSuite, and other collaboration tools.
  • Experience using data and analytics in the service of larger initiatives
  • Knowledge of tools and processes across platforms for community management and social listening.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to self-manage tasks both big and small. We are a start-up environment with constantly shifting priorities where everyone pitches in as needed.
  • Passion for user generated content with endless curiosity about what makes certain content sticky, and ultimately viral
  • Insatiable appetite for data and insights to power future content strategies
  • Knowledge of content creation process (video editing, photography, design)
  • A passion for animals is a must!
