We seek a content professional to join our team reporting to our Director of Brand Content Strategy. This position, Digital Content Strategist, requires a combination of journalism and social media acumen to craft multi-platform content for our three professional salon industry media brands (and for client brands as required). This is a great opportunity for a junior editor looking to level-up, or a solid mid-level editorial professional with passion for the beauty/professional salon industry.

Please note remote work associates may on occasion be asked to work from a Bobit office location as feasible.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with and under the direction of our Director of Brand Content Strategy to:
  • Create and manage compelling content with high visibility across multiple platforms as directed: social, web, email, and print
  • Ensure that content for each of the brands’ touch-points (e.g., website, email newsletters, social media, print magazines, video, podcast) is consistently produced on schedule, at a high level of quality, and in alignment with the company’s overall content standards (including visual and display components in collaboration with the creative services team)
  • Co-develop story ideas and content agenda in collaboration with the top brand editors
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to craft and direct content deliverables that support paid campaigns and reinforce messaging across all platforms, in addition to editorially supporting such initiatives
  • Assist with work on deliverables and artist relations for our influencer marketing program
  • Participate in strategizing with editorial staff, sales, and production to drive ideation and follow-through
  • Help accelerate and grow digital and social media initiatives with an emphasis on engagement
  • Assist in the hands-on development of audience and engagement-based initiatives, beyond traditional advertising packages

Requirements:

  • Genuinely interested in the beauty industry
  • Editorially trained and commercially inclined
  • Organized and proactive with a can-do attitude and get-it-done ability
  • Strong understanding of best practices on different social platforms
  • Able to travel for industry events and content opportunities as required

You have:

  • A degree (journalism, public relations, marketing, or related communications field) - preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ideally three + years of experience articulating information to mass audiences via multiple platforms
  • Expertise with all major social media platforms, particularly Instagram (including on camera live)
  • Awareness and comfort with all forms of digital tools to support content creation
  • The ability to comfortably and professionally interact with audiences online, in person, and on camera
  • SEO and digital analytics acumen
  • CMS experience
  • An innate sense of curiosity with a desire to learn - and you're a quick study!
  • A positive approach to work and be resilient
