We’re looking for a creative, strategic and seasoned communication and PR leader to join the US Marketing team as the director of communications and PR.
In this role, you will be responsible for continuing to build momentum, expand brand and product awareness for Kaia Health. You’ll be leading and executing our communication and PR strategy in collaboration with external and internal partners. This role reports to the VP of Brand and will partner closely with growth marketing, creative teams, product teams and others.
About the role:
Drive a steady drumbeat of high-impact press that grows brand awareness and positions Kaia as a leader in digital therapeutics, across local, regional, and national news channels
Manage our relationship with our PR agency and external consultants while supporting and holding accountable the PR agency to identify and execute communications initiatives
Collaborate closely with Kaia’s CEO, President, and other executives to shape the narrative and develop thought leadership strategies and tactics, amplifying their social channels as appropriate
Develop strategic plans to elevate new product launches, marketing campaigns, and evergreen narratives.
Create compelling written content by contributing to press releases, company statements, op-eds, bylines, Q&A/talking points, briefings, award nominations, and media pitches that position Kaia and our executes as though leaders
Foster relationships with key media, beat reporters, bloggers, and industry stakeholders across verticals (healthcare, tech, business, consumer)
Develop key communications materials, such as messaging, fact sheet, FAQ, briefing documents, scripts, media lists, pitches, media training for key executives, etc.
Anticipate communications landmines, develop crisis communications plans to mitigate brand risk, and act as a strategic advisor through crises
Lead social media content and strategy (organic and paid), partnering with content and design team to drive a steady flow of content and amplify our message and narrative across channels
Build systems and processes to create efficiencies and capacity for the communications team to effectively and strategically scale its efforts
Develop strategy and identity opportunities for influencer programs
Identify and secure high-profile speaking engagements and thought leadership opportunities for Kaia executives, with a particular focus on our CEO and President
Monitor, analyze, and report out on the performance of key performance indicators (KPIs) to constantly seek ways to improve
Collaborate with People & HR leaders to drive a calendar of regular, proactive internal communications
About you:
8-10 years of marketing and copywriting experience, including strong strategic planning and content development in sales and b2b marketing.
An understanding of the digital healthcare industry and experience in medical content writing.
Knowledge of the content landscape in digital health, healthcare and medical writing practices is preferred
You know how to effectively collaborate with marketing, sales, design, product UX, as well as other stakeholders (medical domain experts, engineers, etc) towards aligned and consistent messaging.
