Pettable was founded to connect pet owners with qualified mental health professionals in their state who can prescribe ESA (Emotional Support Animal) Letters for housing and travel. Our service is compliant with federal and state laws and helps pet owners navigate the often confusing ESA process on one simple platform. We believe that pet owners who have legitimate mental health challenges should be able to live and travel with the pets who provide them so much needed support.
Pettable has grown quickly and profitably since its launch in April 2021 and has plans to expand its business into several mental health adjacencies over the next two years. To support these expansion plans we are looking for an experienced, data-driven VP of Growth who has a proven track record of growing online businesses through a variety of digital platforms.
Pettable’s ultimate goal is to make a substantial and impactful contribution toward solving the challenges of the global mental health epidemic over the next 5 years.
Position Description
The new VP of Growth at Pettable will inherit a very well-functioning ecommerce sales funnel along with a core business that has shown steady and healthy gains over the past several months.
Pettable’s VP of Growth will be responsible for growing and scaling Pettable’s core business (ESA Letters) as well as creating the growth strategies and tactical plans for several business expansion plans.
This role will start out with one direct report, a Paid Media Manager, who will assist in the tactical execution of our media spend across several channels. Other direct reports will follow as needed and according to our strategic plan.
At Pettable, Growth encompasses several distinct and critical marketing functions that must all work together. Paid media (SEM and Paid Social), SEO & organic, product, website CRO, lifecycle (email, SMS, referral), organic social media and brand development are among the areas of concentration for the VP of Growth.
The core of Pettable’s Growth function is powered by deep and critical data analysis. We have built a warehouse of data but will be looking for the VP of Growth to take our data analytics to a new level by introducing a Business Intelligence platform (i.e. Looker, Periscope, or Tableau) that will add even more power to our analytical approach.
The position requires a seamless blend of strategic, tactical, analytical and managerial skills. As in any startup, we are looking for someone who can set a plan but also dive deep into tactical execution on a day-to-day and hour-to-hour basis while managing a team.
This role reports directly to Pettable’s CEO.
What you will do:
- Work closely with Pettable’s CEO and Operations Manager to set Growth goals and KPIs.
- Lead and scale the execution of all Growth strategies.
- Design operational and testing frameworks to identify and optimize growth campaigns.
- Optimize cross-channel acquisition efforts to drive demand and maximize ROI.
- Execute tests and experiments to increase CRO while collaborating with a team of Product, Design, Engineering and Content teams.
- Manage growth analytics and insight tools to drive performance across the funnels.
- Identify, test and scale new growth channels.
- Be part of a small Executive Team responsible for setting the future expansion plans and long term strategies for the company.
Skill Requirements:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience across all functions of growth and performance marketing with proven analytical skills.
- 5+ years of leading early-stage companies to profitability.
- Experience building out and managing a BI platform (i.e. Looker, Tableau, Periscope)
- Deep tactical experience and knowledge across all major growth channels including SEM, SEO, paid social, video, affiliate, referral, organic social, influencer and lifecycle (email, SMS).
- Deep analytical and strategic expertise across growth modeling, funnel optimization, AB/multivariate testing, growth product, and viral marketing.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with an innate ability to empower your team to do its best work.

Time Commitment:
This role is full-time and fully remote. Although you can work from anywhere in the world you must be willing to overlap with US EST hours for the majority of the workday.

Compensation:
Pettable offers a competitive starting salary plus a significant equity stake in the company. We also offer healthcare benefits to US-based employees at an 80% reimbursement level. Pettable offers an unlimited paid-time-off policy.
