In this results-driven, data-focused, hands-on leadership role you will drive rapid growth for a disruptive platform in a massive market to transform people’s lives by connecting older loved ones (grandparents +) and younger loved ones (children) with play and learning in social emotional learning, literacy, and numeracy

The ideal candidate has experience successfully developing a lifestyle learning and play brand, marketing and selling family oriented or children’s products, a proven track record of launching and scaling direct to consumer brands from zero to $100m+, and has the experience and desire to build and scale a sophisticated marketing and customer acquisition team. Your expertise includes DTC, social, email, performance marketing, pricing, marketing campaign development and execution, omni-channel strategy, advertising, PR, pricing, positioning, product, creative, international expansion and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Kinoo's brand.
  • Set, drive, and manage the strategy for accelerating new customer acquisition and pipeline growth. Execute the strategy critical to business performance as we launch our first product and for the next 1-2 years of hardware and subscription product sales for mobile users.
  • Drive full funnel customer acquisition strategy including developing, implementing, and managing the demand generation plan.
  • Develop and execute new digital campaigns, performance marketing, advertising, press, public relations, blog and social media, email and influencer marketing. Manage day to day operations across multiple digital channels and geographies.
  • Speak to intergenerational empathy with full family marketing to older loved ones, parents, and younger loved ones with multigenerational artistic and messaging sensibility.
  • Hands on oversight of website design and development, positioning, creative, and branding.
  • Drive analytics and KPI’s for all marketing and sales campaigns, optimize customer acquisition cost. Compile data, develop appropriate dashboards and distribute reports to BoD and Company leadership of key metrics to allow in depth understanding of sales acquisition, sell through and usage
  • Build and manage Product Management team and function.
  • Develop demand forecast and coordinate full product lifecycle with all teams
  • Develop and execute an international GTM strategy in 2023.
  • Work with VP Business Development to develop BD, partnership, and licensing strategy.
  • Hire, mentor, and manage an effective culturally aligned marketing team.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of Marketing experience, at least 3+ years as CMO or VP Marketing (or equivalent experience at a major tech or children's company) for a successful DTC product.
  • Experience in a technology startup with products in children’s education (preferred but not required), toys, gaming, interactive entertainment.
  • Superb analytical skills and demonstrated use of BI/analytics to make decisions.
  • In-depth knowledge of, and hands on experience with current marketing techniques. Successful track record and intimate knowledge of DTC and digital marketing/performance marketing on Google, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and other platforms. Thorough understanding of these marketing tools and how they integrate into a successful sales and marketing strategy.
  • Experience leading traditional creative and PR agencies.
  • Proven track record scaling sales from zero to $100M+, experience with hardware/ physical and digital products and subscription sales model.
  • Proven track record of building teams, managing them and infusing them with an attitude of fun, playfulness, empathy, curiosity and discipline.
  • Resourceful, creative, growth-mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Business, or related field is required.
