About the position:
Desti is hiring a driven VP of Marketing to assist our executive team by overseeing the development and execution of all internal organic and affiliate content across all digital channels and platforms. Although most of the app’s details we can’t yet share publicly, Desti is positioned to disrupt the industry and rival larger players. This role will report to the COO and will work alongside various members of the company (CEO, Director of Growth, Marketing manager, interns, and more). Required Skills:
- 6+ years of experience managing social media strategy for a technology brand, mobile app experience a plus
- Experience overseeing multi-channel social programming and developing digital content for social channels
- High alignment with our brand values, mission, and passion for small business and local communities
- A proven track record of building communities online, experience working with and connecting local businesses (Desti's partner locations) with their customers (our app users) a plus
- A strong copyeditor with an eye for detail; down to the last character, image crop, and line break.
- Experience managing social media strategy and channels for a social-first brand
- A love of creative campaigns, ideation, and execution, from detailed content production, down to approachable and human copy.
- Your finger on the pulse of social trends and culture, knowing how and when to translate them into brand tactics while maintaining brand integrity.
- Demonstrates an ability to partner effectively across an organization and at all levels.
- Works fluidly in a hyper-paced organization and can move quickly while balancing multiple priorities simultaneously with professionalism and ease.
- Proficiency in Canva and/or similar creative software (Figma, Adobe, etc)
- Proficiency and previous experience leading campaigns on all social media platforms
- Flexible in your work roles and highly adaptable to the changes natural to a quickly-scaling startup
Responsibilities:
Given the flexibility needed in this role working with a start-up, the Director of Social Media will initially be expected to strategize, organize, schedule, and create all social media content. Other responsibilities include:
- Manage ongoing social media projects
- Help lead influencer marketing campaigns
- Assist in campaign conceptualization, design, and strategy
- Execute campaign details (copywriting, content creation, scheduling)
- Use project management tools to track and delegate projects
- Create and grow an organic community of engaged followers
- Convert followers to app downloads
- Identify social media KPIs
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with content creators and freelancers
