Startr Co. is seeking a full-time Public Relations Account Executive with a minimum of 2 years of professional PR experience. This person will handle several accounts and should have solid media relations skills, familiarity with influencer marketing, great writing skills, and a portfolio of past work to share. We are looking for someone who will thrive in an environment where they are able to interact with several clients and CEOs on a daily basis.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Serving as the day-to-day client contact
- Creating and writing press materials including press releases, executive bios, fact sheets, by-lines, and more
- Proposing story ideas that educate and shape editorial opinions
- Researching key media contacts, creating relationships with journalists, and pitching them on an ongoing basis
- Creating media briefing docs and managing interviews on behalf of clients
- Researching and recommending influencer partners
- Conducting influencer outreach and coordinating client opportunities
- Reporting press and influencer opportunities to clients in a timely manner
- Responding to journalist, influencer, and client queries in a timely manner
- Overseeing and updating client PR trackers
- Monitoring press and influencer coverage
- Compiling weekly/ monthly updates for clients
- Contributing to client presentations and wrap reports as needed
- Creating agendas and call recaps and scheduling calls as needed
- Leading and contributing to client calls/video conferences
- Providing client counsel and recommendations
- Contributing to client PR plans
- Contributing to agency brainstorms
- Supporting and participating in company and client virtual and/or in-person events
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Becoming an expert in clients businesses and industries
- Leading multiple accounts
Education and Skills Requirements:
- BA in Mass Communications, Public Relations or related field
- Strong pitching, media relations experience
- Strong writing, research and organizational skills
- Client relations experience with the ability and confidence to act as a direct client contact
- Self-starter, able to work independently as well as in groups
- Strong ability to prioritize, problem-solve and be resourceful
- Able to handle fast-paced PR environment
- Able to work well under pressure
- Takes direction well
- Attention to detail
- Able to handle any/all confidential information, issues and matters in a sensitive manner
