Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), the Vice President, Marketing is responsible for the Marketing operations of ElectraMeccanica. This role will be responsible for the strategy development and growth of all global marketing related functions.

The VP, Marketing will need to work closely with Sales, Operations, Engineering and other departments to develop the strategy around voice of customer, audience definition, branding, market positioning, and all consumer and commercial marketing efforts to drive ElectraMeccanica’s growth and in-market success.

This role is remote within the United States with a preference either on the West Coast or within Arizona. However, for the right candidate we can be flexible.

General Requirements

  • Executing on the Corporate marketing vision as defined by the CRO and leadership team.
  • Develop and deliver on the organization’s marketing business plan in a collaborative fashion across the EMV organization.
  • With guidance from the CRO, create an impactful and effective Go-To-Market Strategy for ElectraMeccanica and its Subsidiaries.
  • Responsible for all facets of marketing from developing the Corporate and product branding to the customer experience process through the sales and aftersales process.
  • Represent the CRO in discussions with EMV marketing partners on items related to branding, media strategy and investment, creative development, promotional alliances, influencer marketing, digital initiatives, and Public Relations.
  • Serve as the brand steward across the EMV organization.
  • Build a team of highly motivated individuals and effectively allocate their time to projects to meet corporate requirements.
  • Partner with other Senior Management to ensure synergy amongst divisions and departments. Provide frequent reports to the CRO on marketing progress and outcomes.

Marketing Strategy

  • Design and implement business strategies across various departments and divisions related to marketing.
  • Develop marketing strategies to aid revenue growth throughout North America for the various revenue channels of the Company.
  • Develop a full marketing strategy aimed at brand awareness for Corporate, Retail, Fleet and other channels.
  • Lead the selection and oversight of external agency partners.
  • Requires external agency partnership skills: contract development, agency compensation and relationship oversight and the ability to inspire, lead and integrate media, creative and event agencies. Set KPI’s for marketing team in conjunction with the CRO.
  • Consistently review cost of marketing operations to ensure resource allocations are efficient and meeting KPI’s.
  • Provide project revenue forecasts that are reasonable and meet organizational targets. Negotiate with strategic partners for marketing and other related areas.

Team Management

  • Grow the necessary resources to meet operational requirements in a prudent and fiscally responsible manner.
  • Promote a globally dynamic corporate culture through positive reinforcement, inclusivity, maintaining an open-door policy, emphasizing continual improvement, accountability and ethical decision making.
  • Set clear expectations for staff on desired behaviours and performance.
  • Recruits, trains, mentors and coaches the Company’s Marketing staff, leading by example.
  • Monitors and recommends resource needs for the Marketing function, including staff, supplies and other resources as needed.

Other Duties

  • Other ancillary duties as required by Management.

Requirements

  • 20+ years of marketing experience required.
  • Must have 10+ years of experience within the automotive industry.
  • Minimum education of a Bachelor’s Degree, MBA or Masters is an asset.
  • Experience with global automotive marketing is a must.
  • Experience with utilizing market analytics to develop operational strategies.
  • High attention to detail mindset and passion for creative excellence.
  • Current on cultural trends, latest marketing technologies and data-driven platforms.
  • Is comfortable with a fast-paced, emerging growth company working environment.
  • Proven track record of operational excellence.
  • Significant experience with profit and loss budgeting.
  • Legally allowed to work in the United States of America.
