This role will be responsible for planning, strategy, and execution of content across all media channels including social, paid digital, influencer and PR for Sally Beauty and Owned Brands. .

Responsibilities

Content Strategy

  • Lead annual and monthly content strategy and development across media communication channels through product understanding, consumer shopping behavior, and trend insights
  • Collaborate with agencies and internal partners on trends and insights, as well as utilize social listening insights, and SEO/SEM learnings to inform consumer focused content planning
  • Utilize industry and channel best practices and familiarity with the organization’s mission and brand voice to inspire ideas and content.
  • Understand social, e-commerce, digital, and CRM channels to build stories that will drive conversion and generate traffic, supporting key brand priorities
  • Develop content “pillars” which act as a core of the content strategy, have utility for the customer and then spin derivative assets to drive demand.
  • Help build educational curriculum to support DIY education in hair color, care and nails

Content Execution

  • Work as a liaison between multiple cross-functional groups (content strategy, influencer/PR, social media, paid social/media, category team, field marketing, merchandising team, CRM, e-commerce, and Creative) to lead monthly content.
  • Develop content briefs, and collaborating and coordinating with in-house Creative on end-to-end production of content, including visual assets (photography, video, and curation) and copy-writing.
  • Maintain and update content and production calendars based on changes and updates from the organization, as well as our team’s timelines, process documents, and more.
  • Lead creative proofing/fact-checking and communicate feedback on behalf of our channel partners to the internal Creative team.
  • Traffic completed content to the paid and organic teams.

Reporting, Measurement and Analytics

  • Work with channel owners to report content performance on a weekly, quarterly, and by-campaign basis.
  • Deliver insights on industry/competitive news.
  • Set up monthly cadence of insights share out meetings with all cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of direct functional experience creating content marketing strategies and editorial calendars
  • Prior experience with editorial content writing/ copywriting, crm, e-commerce content development
  • Prior content development for beauty, fashion, food and retail preferred
  • Strong ability to communicate complex ideas simply at different stages in the customer buying journey
  • Understand SEM/SEO principles and experience using social listening tools (e.g. Sprinklr) to derive content insights
  • Knowledge of how content should be measured, what content KPIs are important, and how content metrics can be optimized
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite
  • BA/BS required
