THE ROLE
As part of the North American Education team, the role is responsible to lead the Education Community strategy. The role is to develop a strong GTM model and pro community content strategy to strengthen our consumer and professional reach through Ambassadors, Artists and Educators at all education touchpoints and distribution channels (Online and Offline). The role is to partner with the Global & NA commercial and Education teams to deliver and execute a fit-for-use education Community strategy for the North American marketplace. The role will be responsible for all educators (full time and Freelancers) across the total portfolio of professional hair brands (Wella Professionals, Sebastian, Nioxin, Wella Colorcharm, Clairol Professional, Kadus Professional).
This role is located in the Wella Company Professional Beauty headquarter in Los Angeles.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with the Global and NA Education, Influencer Marketing, and front-line teams to develop a robust and competitive education community strategy (Signature Artists, Brand Ambassadors, Top Artists, Design Team, Band Educators, and Passionistas)
- Leading on-going capability building plans for Artists and Educators to increase Artistic, Education and Social media mastery, reach, and utilization on and offline.
- Managing relationship with roster of NA 400+ Artists and Educators (freelancers and Full time) across the portfolio of professional hair brands
- Create exposure opportunities of our Wella Company talents to high profile industry events (Digital and Face 2 Face)
- Leading on-going assessment of talent and build annual capability plans as needed to increase POD vs. competition
- Maintaining ongoing communication with community (Monthly Newsletters, bi -annual 1:1 Coaching Sessions)
- Managing, tracking, and reporting for global mapping tool and artist database (Traackr)
- Attracting, recruiting & auditioning new talents as needed to support evolving education landscape
- Staying up to date on competitive brands product launches and education initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in similar role or capacity
- Licensed hair professional (min 7 years)
- Program development (concepts, go to market, new capabilities (i.e. digital, etc) programs for product initiatives and education programs
- Ability to work cross-functionally across teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Strong project management skills
- Strategic thinking
- Budget tracking
- Experience in working with Sales
- Training and development of others
- Good understanding of competitive landscape of other companies in regard to field education and understanding how to develop program to meet market needs with a clear point of difference
- Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, refugee, asylee or lawful permanent resident.
- College Degree or Acceptable work-related experience
- Valid driver’s license, vehicle proof of insurance, and ability to drive and travel long distances for extended periods.
- Knowledge/Experience of the Professional Salon industry
- Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Creative
