The Lip Bar is a beauty brand that exists to challenge the beauty standard by reminding our customers that they are enough through diverse imagery, affordable pricing and easy to use products. We are launching a new brand, called Thread and we are looking for a creative marketer to be our brand manager!
The Opportunity:
We are a start up within a scaling start-up looking for a dynamic team player to guide brand and marketing activities across brand channels. Joining our team will provide an opportunity to learn, grow, and lead in this fast paced environment. This role will partner with the cross functional teams to develop & deliver marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, customer acquisition and retention.
Role Details:
We’re looking for a passionate brand marketer who has the ability to use data and customer insights to transform them into compelling marketing campaigns. Ideal candidate is a self-starter, who lives in the data but also understands the lifestyle and lingo of our customers -urban women- analyzing and leading marketing communications that are in alignment with both the brand vision and the customer demographic.
The priorities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Excellent communication skills are a must as a candidate will manage the brand positioning across social, email, text, influencer, and performance marketing for retail and direct to consumer. This person is a natural leader and has a knack for digital storytelling. Candidate will ensure our processes are efficient, analytics are tracked and optimization is prioritized in an omni-channel fashion. Strong understanding of consumers and shoppers' habits, behaviors and attitudes. Understanding of the customer and the ability to connect product to story to consumer and tracking the effectiveness of it all will be essential to succeed in this role.
3 Month Priorities:
- Assist in a successful launch of Thread Brand.
- Manage marketing calendar in conjunction with the larger marketing efforts across brand and retail marketing initiatives.
- Build product marketing concepts to increase customer acquisition and retention
- Utilize data, consumer insights and key messaging to tell compelling brand stories consistently and creatively across marketing channels.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to help execute product launches, marketing commercialization and promotions
- Thoughtfully design marketing conversation and evolve content based on customer segments informed by varying levels of engagement, demographics, and psychographics.
- Determine and manage performance marketing communications (optimizing for engagement)
6 Month Priorities:
- Create a community for our consumers to relate and be human together.
- Identify opportunities to AB test on our platforms by monitoring engagement, return on marketing spend, and insights from social listening tools and overall customer surveys.
- Lead, supervise and mentor marketing channel managers in support of brand goals and their career development.
- Analyze sales + engagement efforts creating weekly and monthly reporting with Head of Marketing to glean insights and recommendations for optimizations.
- Consistently drive strong storytelling for email, SMS, app pushes, and on-site targeting campaigns by testing subject lines, creative, copy, send time, etc.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 4 years of brand experience.
- Minimum 2 years of management experience.
- Understanding of Microsoft Excel.
