De Lune is a public benefit corporation on a mission to end menstrual suffering. We offer reviving relief: in the form of education, community, and healthy products that work. We are carving out our brand differentiation as building deep “big sister” trust with menstrual sufferers.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Marketing Mastermind, you’ll be jumping into the boat with our founding team and setting sail towards sustainable growth! We are a small team of creative thinkers - obsessed with our mission, content, and products - seeking someone with a marketing mind to steer us towards profitability. This position will start as a part-time teammate with the intention of turning into a core teammate before the end of 2022 if sales and spending goals are hit.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Month-to-month

  • Work directly with the founders to set strategic objectives and marketing budget for the month ahead
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve marketing mix efficiency and provide strategic and budget recommendations for any new opportunities
  • Create a monthly process for analyzing marketing data: gathering feedback from existing and prospective customers, staying abreast of the competitive landscape, and monitoring campaign performance
  • Bring data-driven opinions to our strategic meetings! We want a teammate who is confident enough in their analytic skills to be able to push back on the founding team on any topic relevant to marketing (could be content, site, user experience, overall budget, channel strategy, etc)

Week-to-week

  • Lead a weekly all-team marketing meeting and delegate tasks as needed to appropriate teammates
  • Own and execute all marketing initiatives according to the strategy and budget: from ideation to post-mortem reporting
  • Collaborate with the content team to drive marketing initiatives consistent with our creative calendar and brand voice
  • Define and track marketing goals and KPIs across initiatives

Day-to-day

  • Own day to day management of existing paid marketing channels: Facebook/Instagram, Google, Pinterest, and Amazon (assigning creative asset asks to the content team as needed)
  • Build, own, and manage any data analytics dashboards
  • Manage the overall marketing budget with an emphasis on allocating resources to profitable campaigns (ROAS >1)
  • Think outside the box to assess new channels (paid or earned) such as influencer, affiliate, Reddit and set up proof-of-concept experiments as appropriate
  • Be responsive to team messages during work hours

KEY EXPERIENCE

Tactical marketing skills

  • In-depth experience in a performance, marketing, or heavily digital role at an small ecommerce company, digitally-native brand, or marketing agency
  • Proficient at setting up and running profitable campaigns in at least one of the following channels: Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads/Youtube, Pinterest Ads, Amazon Campaign Manager
  • Experience with earned or owned media such as SEO or PR is a plus
  • Experience using data to analyze marketing performance and drive strategic decision making (comfortable with Google Analytics, Shopify reporting, etc)
  • Possesses a well rounded toolkit of tried-and-true marketing tools, strategies, and tactics, combined with a willingness to think outside the box and try new things
