Our client, a rapidly growing San Diego company that manufactures innovative and top-performing products, is seeking to partner with a seasoned Social Media Manager. For the past decade, this company has been a US leader within its product category, which is growing exponentially (this is within the leisure, outdoor, sporting goods, and transportation space). The team utilizes an Ecommerce, Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), business model to ensure their customers always have access to the highest performance and most functional products at the best prices.
Position Summary: The Social Media Manager is responsible for the social media communication functions designed to support the company's marketing strategies and growth objectives. Adhering to the established brand voice, this position will represent the company to the public through various social media interactions, including TikTok. The Social Media Manager, collaborating with the Content Marketing Manager and key internal partners, will take an active role in developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy designed to significantly grow social audiences, engagements, and brand awareness.
This role is hybrid: Candidates must be able to work on-site in Chula Vista, California 2-3x per month. (COVID vaccination required for on-site working)
This is a full-time, 3-month, temp-to-hire, opportunity.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for writing, editing, and publishing engaging, educational, and inspiring content that will be distributed across the company's owned social media channels.
- Ensure the tone, voice, and personality of social media content are always consistent with the company's brand identity and values.
- Execute the distribution of customized content appropriate for each channel's goals and target audiences.
- Nurture and monitor online social communities, providing timely responses to basic inquiries and elevating service issues to designated customer support personnel.
- Utilize the latest social media tools and best practices to ensure sustained audience growth and effective channel management.
- Monitor and report on relevant social media trends and competitors' social media activity.
- Create unique and engaging social media promotions designed to elevate brand awareness, increase email subscribers and grow audiences.
- Provide execution support for the Company's Influencer and Ambassador programs, including identifying and communicating with influencers and ambassadors, recommending content for partners to share, coordinating product delivery and/or discounts, and ensuring timely compliance of partner deliverables.
- Support the ongoing development of social media content in all forms (copy, graphics, video).
- Other ad hoc communications projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field (preferred)
- 2-3 years of social media and/or content creation experience with a consumer-facing brand; TikTok content creation knowledge is a firm requirement
- Direct professional experience publishing content across multiple social media channels (TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, Pinterest, etc.)
- Skilled and creative communicator with proven experience in social media content publishing and audience engagement
- Strong social media writing skills and ability to adhere to a clear brand voice
- Highly organized and proactive self-starter with keen attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and the flexibility to meet real-time social media needs
- Excellent time management skills, proven record of meeting deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well with larger groups/teams
- Ability to shoot compelling product photos, GIFs, time-lapses, etc. on phone adhering to established brand guidelines
- Desire to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable and willing to prioritize the needs of the employer during key marketing campaigns
