Hero Collective – a digital-first, culture-obsessed strategic think tank, creative studio and advertising agency – is seeking a Paid Social Media and Performance Manager to develop, execute, and support client advertising and performance initiatives.
Reporting to the VP of Social Media Strategy and Performance, this is an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join a rapidly growing agency while developing or advancing their skills in one of the most sought-after segments within the digital marketing space.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports the VP Social Media Social Strategy and Performance in the creation of client-facing media plans, including audience identification and targeting methodologies
- Executes on client media buying plans by promoting content on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, and TikTok
- Monitors in-market campaigns, identifying opportunities for optimization and communicating results with key stakeholders
- Provides community management support on campaigns when within the client’s scope of work
- Analyzes performance of client social channels, content, and advertising, resulting in the delivery of monthly, ad hoc, and annual client reports
- Supports the organic distribution of client content by implementing hashtag and other performance strategies
- Collaborates with members of the Social Media and Creative teams to ensure that all content produced on behalf of the client is optimized for success in paid social campaigns
- Supports internal and external teams by providing research or analysis necessary to ensure the success of the team’s efforts, including but not limited to competitor analysis, influencer research, and sentiment analysis
- Serves as internal subject matter expert with regard to 3rd party analysis tools utilized by Hero on behalf of clients
Desired Skills and Experience
- 3-5 years of work experience in a full-time social media role focused partially or fully on paid social advertising and performance
- For early career candidates, either a certification or post-secondary coursework in social media, relevant internship or freelance experience is required for consideration
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience with 3rd party social media management and analysis tools
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Facebook Business Manager

- Meta Certifications (Digital Marketing Associate, Marketing Science Professional, Media Planning, Media Buying, or Marketing Developer)
- Twitter Flight School
- Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills, from both creative and technical perspectives
- Project management skills, certifications, or experience
- Presentation design skills (PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides)
- Experience in B2B marketing and advertising
- Skills or experience in digital performance marketing beyond social media (display, programmatic, search, native advertising, etc.)
- Experience with content ideation and production
- Basic creative skills, including photo and/or video editing
- Experience in or strong desire to work in the multicultural diversity & inclusion space
