Our women-led, women-managed, publicly traded plant-based food & beverage company is seeking a top-notch Director of Marketing to execute marketing strategy across all Planting Hope food & beverage brands.

Job Description:
We are adding a Director of Marketing to our dynamic Marketing team at Planting Hope Brands (PHB). This position will play an integral role in executing marketing programs across channels for our portfolio of plant-friendly, plant-based brands.
The right candidate will have experience in building food & beverage brands across channels, from digital to retailer, and across awareness platforms from sampling to social media. You are encouraged to be audacious, curious, innovative, and passionate in all that you do. You will have the opportunity to collaborate across multiple disciplines with some of the most creative minds in the natural foods industry. You will partner closely with the marketing team members and sales team to generate new opportunities, drive revenue, and evolve the brand positioning for the brands in the consumer retail and ecommerce space. You will assist in the creation and execution of annual marketing plans and translate those into integrated campaigns and activate across PR, influencers, digital, partnerships, and other key channels.
This position reports to the SVP of Marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on the development and execution of consumer-relevant, fully integrated annual marketing plans [FG1] from conception through facilitation and fulfillment across all brand channels with clear measures for success that contribute to sales, profit, and brand health objectives
- Partner with the Ecommerce team to drive traffic to the company and affiliated e-commerce sites (Amazon) [FG2] through development and execution of strategic sales and marketing plans using advertising, email campaigns, promotions, PR, consumer and industry events, digital marketing, lead generation, social media, and sponsorship activations
- Execute day-to-day project management of agency partners including paid media and public relations
- Manage the annual marketing calendar to include company events, social media and PR calendars, digital and traditional campaigns, new product launches, and overall campaigns
- Work alongside operations and SVP of Marketing [FG3] and VP of Ecommerce to set and track goals and ROI for digital and social campaigns, events, and marketing campaigns
- Collaborate with the Category Insights Manager to provide insights and recommendations on future marketing campaigns based on data analysis and post-program review
- Work with the PR agency to drive awareness and establish PHB brands as category leaders with consumer media, trade media, and influencers
- Oversee and manage the development and production of branded print collateral, non-printed collateral (websites, e-blasts, etc.), event signage, social media, etc. and ensure brand standards are adhered to
- Remain up to date on all trends and changes in all social and digital platforms (including TikTok and IG)
- Remain up to date on Millennial and Gen Z trends to include cultural, social, and influencer trends
- Develop meaningful partnerships with various departments, internal/external agencies, retail and F&B businesses, influencers, and RDs to generate brand awareness and engagement
- Support marketing focus groups to provide clear and actionable feedback
- Support all consumer and trade events marketing and brand initiatives
- Embrace and champion a digital and social first philosophy to consumer and trade communication aimed at developing and fostering true engagement and genuine brand advocacy
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
- MBA preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in food & beverage/CPG brand marketing required
- Shopper marketing experience required
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills with ambition
- Excellent collaborative and negotiation skills with ability to build productive business relationships cross functionally within the organization and outside of the organization with agency partners
- Assertive self-starter with ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong record of complex project management with multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to prioritize and effectively measure and drive for results in an entrepreneurial work environment

Compensation:
- Full-time, Salaried-exempt, and commensurate with experience

Requirements:
- We prefer this role to operate from our Chicago offices in the Uptown neighborhood on Chicago’s North side.
- Some travel, including attendance at relevant trade shows, is required
