We're seeking a Social Media Manager to join our team. This position will report to the Sr. Director, Consumer Brand & Partnerships.
As the Social Media Manager, you will define strategy, create monthly tactical briefs, and execute as well as maintain a cross-functional content calendar. You will project manage a social team, and ensure all copy and imagery for our organic social media channels reflects our brand positioning. You will ensure that all content created under your team ladders up to the overall goals of increasing brand awareness, engagement, and acquisition within both of our educator and parent communities. In addition, you will monitor and benchmark our channel activities and engagement to our competitor set. You will lead bi-monthly reporting across all our organic social channels and lead 30 day performance retros. Channels include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, & TikTok. A creative social media marketer, with a passion for education, you are on top of social media trends, conversations in the education and parenting space, and know how to iterate for and report on success.
You will manage our growing community of educators and parents across social media and route queries in partnership with the Customer Success and Marketing teams. You will be an active participant in all community conversations to drive engagement. You will also work in close partnership with our Influencer Manager to engage with all of our relevant Influencer and brand partners. You will use platforms including Sprout, Bit.ly, and Google Analytics to perform job functions and track success. You will use Asana to manage projects end to end with the social team.
This is a critical role on the Marketing team at BrainPOP with direct accountability for all social KPIs. Your contributions will directly impact our brand awareness goals and drive a measurable increase in BrainPOP's share of voice both online and offline.
In this role, you will:
- Define and develop BrainPOP's social media strategy across all channels
- Develop social media campaigns that support our overall marketing goals
- Develop and converse with our educator and parent communities
- Maintain a content calendar, monthly brief, bi-monthly report, and 30 day retro
- Stay informed on social media trends and continuously monitor competitors
- Respond to customer queries and participate in our community
- Use tracking platforms including Sprout Social, Bit.ly, SEMRush, and Google Analytics
- Work cross-functionally with departments including Customer Success, Product Marketing and PR
- Use research and industry best practice to make judgments about social content, iterating based on analytics

On Your Resume
- A minimum of 3-5 years of social media management experience (preferably for an education or parent-facing brand)
- Experience growing an organic following on social media
- Experience with both high-level social media strategy and tactical execution
- Experience working cross functionally with both copywriters and designers
- Experience with designing/editing templates on the fly as needed
- Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
- Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social)
- Experience with community management
