The Consumer Communications team is responsible for Influencer Marketing, Organic Social and Consumer Public Relations at Whole Foods Market. We are looking for a fall intern to join the team for the launch of our 2022 Holiday campaign (Nov/Dec).

As a primary project during this internship, you will be supporting the planning and execution of our 2022 Holiday campaign, including emerging and innovative Consumer Communications tactics. By the end of this internship, you will have gained first-hand experience with a peak-season integrated retail marketing campaign and noteworthy “firsts” for a brand.

The role will focus on that project while contributing to everyday responsibilities of the three channels within Consumer Communications. The ideal candidate is tapped into what’s trending in social, culture and earned media with a passion for food, brand-level storytelling, and content creation.

This internship will be based at our corporate headquarters in Austin, Texas. The selected candidate will need to work at our office location, and the office work schedule will be discussed during the screening process.

Responsibilities May Include

  • Assisting with strategy and planning for a major integrated campaign
  • Social media content capture and editing, including real-time opportunities
  • Social production assistance, including pre-production and on-set support
  • Compiling mailings for social followers, reporters and influencers
  • Social media trends, UGC and influencer mention research and monitoring
  • Influencer sourcing and vetting
  • Community management, including responding to brand love mentions from followers and fans
  • Earned media auditing + research
  • Maintaining channel plans in Whole Foods Market’s content management system
  • Participation in internal campaign and content brainstorms
  • Updating contact databases for media + influencers
  • Supporting other Whole Foods Market projects, as needed

Qualifications

  • Eager to learn about PR, Social and Influencer marketing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion for social media
  • Knowledge of emerging social media platforms and tactics
  • Interested in still and video content capturing and asset editing (retouching, social platform native-style video editing)
  • Experience or interest in Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrated, After Effects), Premiere or Final Cut Pro and native editing tools is preferred
  • Professional experience with social media for a brand through internship or work experience is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including PPT, Word and Excel (Excel for data analysis, including use of formulas and manual/conditional formatting)
  • Positive, get-it-done attitude
  • Responsible and dependable team player
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
