Overview Of The Role

Garnier USA is looking for a highly motivated social media community manager and content creator with 1-3 years’ experience to engage with and grow the Garnier brand’s social community. The Assistant Manager of Social Media works across the total Garnier brand including the hair care, hair color and skincare categories. The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Brand Engagement Team in the areas of: content planning and execution, some content creation, community management, reporting & analytics and team administration.

Community Management

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day "always-on" organic social media content publishing and community management; proactively engaging with fans and followers, influencers and consumers in a timely manner (24 hours)
  • Manage moderation of paid social campaigns for all @GarnierUSA channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and Snapchat)
  • Liaison with the L’Oreal Customer Care Center (CCC) team for customer service engagement needs and crisis communications issues
  • Manage and maintain relationships with Digital Influencers and press across social platforms
  • Responsible for reporting on insights for all influencer/expert led paid and earned campaigns

Content Creation & Management

  • Create and execute daily Social Media Content Calendar across all owned @GarnierUSA channels
  • Act as the social copywriter for organic social content. You will be the voice of the brand in social
  • Act as the content creator for InstaStories; you will be responsible for creating the story frames leveraging assets from influencer partners and both internal and external experts
  • Responsible for organizing the development of shoot briefs for in-house teams and creative agencies. Assist with managing the content development process from conception through post-production
  • Assist on TVC/Digital and social media shoots with duties including working with a photographer to capture stills needed for evergreen social content and managing InstaStories for behind-the-scenes content with spokesmodels and experts

Social Media Strategy

  • Maintain channel and content strategies under the direction of the AVP of Communications
  • Report on social KPI’s consistently as requested (daily in some cases, weekly and monthly) utilizing Rival IQ, IG, Youtube and Google analytics
  • Utilize tools like Netbase for trends to inform larger Marketing team of opportunities to create nimble social content based on rising and declining trends in products, ingredients, etc.
  • Stay current on new social media platforms, tools and best practices with the confidence to present important developments with the internal team
  • Work closely with all departments across the brand to execute strategic, engaging social campaigns and marketing activations that require social support (retail programs, etc)

Job Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or related field
  • Minimum 1-3 years of social media experience at a Digital/PR Agency, in-house at a brand or Publisher
  • Background and interest in beauty, fashion and/or lifestyle brands is preferred
  • Must be a numbers nerd. Need to have a clear understanding of how to set KPIs, pull social media analytics (familiarity of Rival IQ, Sprinklr, SocialBakers, NetBase and/or similar tools) and merchandise insights back to management
  • Must love photography and excel at creating content specifically for InstaStories. Experience in photography and basic editing skills, with the motivation to continue to learn and excel at visual content creation are key to this role
  • Photoshop skills are required
  • Relationships with beauty and lifestyle influencers and understanding of influencer marketing strategy is a plus
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work cross-functionally with many different teams on projects
  • Go-getter attitude to positively engage with both consumers and influencers
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be a strong writer; copy editing is critical to this role
  • Strong appreciation for our business / sensitivity to métier

  • Post COVID-19: Ability to travel for work outside of NYC (mostly LA and Miami), an average of 2 days per month.
