Available Opportunity
We’re looking for a PR rockstar with experience in travel and hospitality. This position is Location Independent which means you can work/live anywhere in the contiguous United States, that is within a 4-hour time difference of the company headquarters - currently located in Detroit, Michigan.
As Public Relations Director, you’ll be responsible to:
- Lead development and execution of transformative PR strategies
- Deliver high quality programs and results that meet and exceed client expectations
- Define goals, objectives and KPIs for the agency and its clients
- Uncover unique story angles and key messaging that resonate within the media landscape
- Identify new opportunities, creative strategies, innovative activations to garner publicity
- Establish and cultivate meaningful relationships with trade and consumer media, helping to secure impactful placements while building Alliance Connection’s media database
- Manage onsite press visits, media FAMs, activations, celebrity visits in tandem with a coordinator helping to craft and host tailored experiences
- Manage ROI and reporting in tandem with a coordinator
- Lead and garner publicity for the agency
- Stay on top of industry trends to help drive positive media coverage and brand awareness
- Spearhead crisis communications for the company’s travel clients
- Help lead new business development, client leads, RFPs, budgets and presentations
- Oversee department coordinator (PR and Influencer Marketing Specialist), helping to train, lead and cultivate growth
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 8+ years of public relations/media relations experience (agency and travel/hospitality industry preferred) with proven success driving PR programs and media coverage
- Relationships: Deep rooted relationships with top-tier trade, travel and various consumer media outlets including family and lifestyle, and a love for cultivating those connections
- Creativity: Creative thinker who isn’t afraid to color outside the lines, and has a passion for ideating creative and thoughtful PR plans and pitches
- Communication: Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for focusing on the details
- Excellent Organizational Skills: Fantastic skills in keeping a lot of information, dates, and files organized and quickly accessible
- Loves To Learn: A persistent enthusiasm to learn, keep up with marketing trends, grow in their role, adapting as the landscape changes
- Entrepreneur Spirit: A self-starter who can multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
- Positive Attitude: A positive thinker who is focused on finding solutions and problem solving, as well as cultivating a positive team environment
- Social Media: Social media proficiency with a solid foundational knowledge of the platforms and influence
