The Role:
We are looking for an experienced VP with personal branding and/or public relations experience, as well as an extensive understanding of social media and exceptional client service skills, to oversee our priority talent partnerships & digital publicity products within the Vayner Consulting division at VaynerMedia.
Responsibilities / Expectations:
Client Management: you are the lead point of contact for all VaynerMedia talent & digital publicity consulting clients
- You are the leader of a client's business, ensuring that we are delivering for the client’s business against agreed upon scope and objectives
- Responsible for developing strong relationships with various types of senior clients, including direct relationship management of high-profile talent personalities and CMO/Heads of Marketing who are clients of Vayner Consulting.
- Ensure that all client initiatives run on time and on budget
- Be able to leverage landscape and brand/talent knowledge to inspire the team and contribute ideas that can transform the business.
- Be able to effectively lead and shape client presentations and confidently present, as required
- Strengthen and own client & partner agency relationships (and all other stakeholders) and ensure we’re removing any barriers to our team delivering great and actionable work
- Deeper and more proactive understanding of client's business outside of our consulting work, identifying additional opportunities for us to provide value and continue to build the relationship. Work with relevant biz / dept leads as needed to further nurture client relationships and translate into relevant VM core offerings or broader VX opportunities.
Team Management: you are the “voice” of the client internally, serving as the account steward with integrated teams who support consulting projects.
- Partners with project management and resourcing to properly cast and staff Vayner consulting & talent engagements, ensuring we’re leveraging key team member strengths across the organization in order to deliver an exceptional client experience
- Understands your role as a leader on the team. Always approachable and empathetic, you are seen as a role model to their direct reports in terms of maturity, self awareness and professionalism.
- Educate, inspire, motivate, and mentor teams (along with strategy, media and creative etc…) in VaynerMedia's commitment to providing best-in-class marketing communications, while contributing to the career growth of your team members.
- At times, you may be expected to work with the SVP on key client projects tied to existing businesses and/or larger potential business opportunities.
- You will have AS or SAE team members assigned to key client engagements. You are responsible for helping team members to effectively manage client communications and deliverages and you are ultimately accountable for quality control.
- Partner with integrated teams across creative, strategy, media to ensure we’re delivering smart work that delivers on clients business objectives and lives in the VM ethos of an integrated, culture-forward communication approach designed to “find right”
- Manages up to SVP on all things having to do with client and team
- Responsible for assignments centered around operational and internal initiatives, as provided by the Leadership team
- Radical Candor: Ability to deliver all feedback (both the positive and the tough) in a clear, direct and motivating manner
- Attendance and leadership role at relevant client meetings and internal work work sessions
- Ensure all internal and external legal approvals are in place and is accurately reflected in the deliverables
Sales Strategy & Business Development: support and in many cases lead business development efforts for Vayner’s consulting (and broader new business efforts as needed)
- Expert on all VM services with a nuanced understanding of all talent & consulting offerings
- Own and develop all talent & consulting sales collateral, ensuring materials are fresh, updated and customized to meet the needs of various clients and the market as a whole
- Partner with new biz ops team and outbound leads to identify, qualify and nurture key new business leads that are a fit for VM consulting
- At times, you may be tapped for new biz opportunities outside of consulting, supporting priority RFP or inbound inquiries based on existing consulting workload
- Ensure seamless feedback loop and visibility of consulting new biz opportunities within broader new business deal flow
- Responsible for weekly reporting to leadership / biz leads on consulting pipeline and VM consulting financials
- Responsible for the development and presentation of client proposals that meet the clients specific needs
- Has the ability to sell in new business and strategically turn qualified leads into consulting opportunities
- Nurture and deepen relationships with senior consulting clients with an eye towards expanding Vayner’s role in supporting integrated services long-term
- Ambitious, driven and strives to deliver the best work on behalf of VaynerMedia as a whole, not just what benefits the world of consulting
- Drive long term consulting vision in conjunction with SVP
Vayner POV and Business Strategy: you are a practitioner of the digital space. You live and breathe marketing for the world we live in.
- Proactively identify and drive forward new ideas and recommendations for how to evolve VM talent & consulting offerings and opportunities for innovation within the marketplace
- You regularly read business reports and platform updates and provide a pov to the client as relevant
- Eat, breathe, and sleep today’s digital & mobile consumer, to develop brand-specific strategies that, ultimately, help them sell shit
- Strong foundational and working knowledge around personal branding and/or PR for executives and high-profile personalities with an emphasis on social media and digital strategies. Must be well versed in common PR, marketing and media principles with a strong understanding of the social media platforms and ecosystems.
- Be well versed in the various Paid Media and Measurement opportunities in social, digital, and broader marketing mix, to provide client recommendations on the proper social & digital KPIs, based on brand-specific goals.
- Strong understanding of all of VX’s offerings, including GMG, Sasha, Tracer, Talent, etc. and know how and when to utilize these teams and their offerings

- Solid presentation skills (verbal, written, visual) to deliver impeccable strategic social counsel and ability to partner with creative and media teams to get to a strong story
- Strong facilitation skills
- Collaborate with the leaders of other departments (Creative, Strategy, IPM, Analytics/Insights, Media, Community Management) as well as inter-agency partners to improve and execute on client deliverables, process, and output to ensure ongoing excellence of the work
- Ensure the team is working with consistent processes and templates and have a buttoned up approach to day to day management of campaigns and clients

Financial acumen + business health
- You deliver all projects on time and within budget for your business
- Be able to anticipate project costs, logistics, watch-outs, and what deliverables are doable / not doable within a client budget
- Ensures client relationship health is closely tracked and communicated to leadership on a regular basis
- Leads client communications around campaign finances and billing
- Ensures all scopes and schedules are completed and signed in a timely manner while working alongside finops lead to keep a handle on monthly billing and scope tracker.
- Contribute to the continued growth and stability of VaynerMedia, by being empowered to make decisions that are best for the company both today and tomorrow
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or Entrepreneurial street creds and 10+ years of experience working within the talent personal branding and/or public relations space with experience in social/digital
- Proven track record of effectively growing client’s business, effectively able to manage a portfolio of $5MM- $10MM in revenue
- Proven success of managing brand / talent reputation initiatives or digital campaigns focused on brand perception and earned media
- Strong experience and confidence leading a new business pitch
- Confident and dependable facilitator of meetings and presentations
