PR & Social Media Manager

Fluke Reliability Solutions (FRS) is seeking a PR & Social Media Communications Manager to join its Brand & Content Team.
The PR & Social Media Communications Manager is a new and broadly scoped role that combines social media management, PR, and corporate event strategy. The primary goal of this role is to develop and execute a holistic strategy for external communications to expand our reach, improve brand perception, increase consideration for our products, and further establish FRS as the leaders in the connected reliability space by utilizing both earned and owned media, influencer marketing, and national and international events. Fluke Reliability has a compelling story to tell that will differentiate us within the market. This role is integral in rolling out that story globally and continuing to nurture and develop our valued relationships with our customers and trade media. This role will lead the media outreach strategy for FRS holistically, working with our regional PR agencies and internal marketing teams to execute plans as well as layer in a corporate events approach that increases our credibility in the market. They will develop the social media program for FRS including calendar creation and content rollout – driving followership, engagement and loyalty with Fluke customers and fans.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in both PR and social media – having extensive experience building relationships with the press and discovering opportunities as well as proven experience using social media to build brands, create attention, grow communities, and generate user advocacy on a global and local scale. They will implement mechanisms and measurement tools that identify opportunities to engage audiences and leverage new and existing content platforms. At a strategic level, they will build, own and champion a strategy and social media experimentation plan to connect with our fans and followers more effectively. At a tactical level, they will own the social team’s content calendar, create a steady stream of organic content for North America and EMEA, leverage performance metrics to experiment, and test new content ideas, as well as provide regular performance reporting to all levels of the business.
Reporting to the Director of Brand & Content, this role will work on a highly collaborative and consultative basis with peers in marketing, HR, and the leadership team, communicating the global vision for FRS.
RESPONSIBILIES
- Own the EMEA and North America PR and social media strategy and plan along with any associated budget across campaigns and channels – establishing FRS as a thought leader in the connected reliability space
- Provide communications expertise, support, and advice to the FRS leadership team to translate complex messages into clear, concise communications suitable for global audiences
- Manage the relationships with any agencies (in the U.S and Europe) used for corporate PR or public affairs
- Ensure a steady pipeline of company news: industry awards, product launches, customer stories, surveys on an external and internal basis to drive interest and engagement
- Lead the development and implementation of a wide range of content types: video, animation, photography, blog/editorial, and other content that best utilizes relevant social media platforms.
- Analyze, review, and report on the effectiveness of PR and social to inform our strategy, drive relevant metrics and understand social media and PR impact.
- Be an expert on PR and social market trends, providing inspiration and thought leadership on ways to engage customer and fans.
- Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design, and strategy. Determine effective benchmarks and best practices.
- Manage corporate events strategy and calendar (in-person and virtual), including the Xcelerate Maintenance & Reliability Conference, a large-scale event that FRS hosts annually
- Maintain a steady in-flow of topics and subject matter expert speakers for Best Practice Webinar series
- Manage two contractors – one for events to carry out execution and logistics planning and another for social media to manage the calendar and create posts.
- Partner closely with Content Manager to align their marketing content strategy with your external communications strategy/calendar and plan what articles, editorials, blogs posts, social posts, etc. are needed from the Content team for PR outreach
- Serve as presentation, press release, and speech writer to senior executives for global audiences, providing media training and coaching as needed.
- Partner with HR and FRS senior leadership team to create often quick turn externally facing crisis mitigation communications, crafting a narrative that upholds the integrity of the brand while providing customers with necessary information about products and services.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7+ years of communications, marketing, or public relations experience, including experience within a mid-to-large size company responsible for setting and executing PR and social marketing strategies (global experience preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience driving results and innovation through Social Media platforms
- A proven ability to set-up and effectively utilize leading marketing analytics platforms (e.g. Sprinklr, Google Analytics, PowerBI. Hootsuite etc.) to identify and report on insights important to driving the business
- Experience with A/B and/or multivariate testing to drive increase in social performance
- Understanding of the unique nuances of content strategy for the various social platforms, including Linked In, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter, and have a POV on TikTok, Reddit, and Pinterest, too
- Excellent copywriting skills for social captions and customer engagement as well as editorial writing skills for technical article writing for various global publications
- Ability to design, crop, and edit assets for social media publication.
- Appreciation of developing trends in the media and for communications in general, including the importance of content, PR, social media, and digital, alongside more traditional channels
- Demonstrated creativity in driving external communications and thought leadership activity
- Track record of building relationships with trade media, industry leaders, and influencers
- Proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and shifting priorities as business needs evolve
- The successful candidate will be creative, innovative, results oriented and possess a demonstrated ability to set strategies and successfully execute to meet business goals.
- Interest in technical subject matter and ability to nuance the messaging/outreach approach by audience
- Familiarity with project management systems (e.g., AirTable, Asana) preferred
- A combination of B2B (lead generation) and B2C (eCommerce) experience, preferred.
