Senior Content Manager, AWS Global Sponsorship
Job Summary
DESCRIPTION
Amazon Web services (AWS) is seeking a senior content manager to join the Global Sponsorship team. As the editorial owner of brand-facing content, you'll lead the content strategy, editorial roadmap, content creation, and content management efforts that enable us to deliver a scale of best-in-class and insight-led-stories across the globe.
The ideal candidate is equal parts creative (developing compelling stories that ladder up to industry themes) and strategic (scaling stories through digital channels). You will have demonstrated a true hands-on approach, have an understanding of content marketing and distribution strategy, understand event/tradeshow/sponsorship marketing, and have significant experience in thought leadership brand marketing.
This role requires broad experience working on global and cross-functional content programs. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated leadership in delivering business results while working in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment. You also have strong data analytics skills and are comfortable working with analysts to identify trends and insights to optimize the content.
Strong preference for this role to be in San Francisco/Bay Area, CA or Seattle, WA but open to work from any U.S. location with an Amazon Corporate Office. Relocation assistance within the U.S. is available.
This role will be an individual contributor role.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the global editorial content calendar. Create, plan, write and edit content calendar for a wide range of projects, such as prospectus, webinar, survey, websites, blogs, social media, emails, digital ads, videos, case studies, infographics, brochures, white paper, event collateral, and other marketing initiatives.
- Work with regional teams and develop an effective global messaging strategy to target the specific market.
- Manage prospect-focused webinars and post-event sponsorship surveys. Collaborate with sponsorship leads to ensure content resonates across target audience segments.
- Define the content types and topics that maximize audience engagement. Research current trends and keywords and contribute to content idea generation.
- Develop and execute a video strategy to highlight the value of AWS Sponsorship benefits and offerings.
- Develop and execute a social media content strategy that grows impressions and engagement rate.
- Manage creative asset needs and requests for the sponsorship team. Collaborate with the event creative team to bring creative storytelling to life.
- Manage the content localization and improve the quality of translation. Establish a new process to streamline the localization for all assets.
- Partner with the global sponsorship leads, event content program managers, partner content program managers, and other cross-functional teams to identify and resource content needs across all sponsorship programs.
- Track and manage content performance and engagement to measure impact and provide proposals to refine and optimize content strategy.
- Influence and maintain global, organization-wide consistency for written communications
- Continually raise the bar on the development of compelling, data-driven storytelling with a brand and customer focus.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Business Communication, Marketing, or related field.
- 8+ years professional experience in editorial, writing, communication, or content marketing (50 percent or more of working hours are spent researching, writing, editing, and story crafting).
- 7+ years of relevant experience managing and executing content strategy, content structures, and content development that demonstrate audience engagement.
- Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- B2B global digital content marketing experience.
- Entrepreneurial spirit/ability to try different things in an ambiguous environment with minimal direction.
- Proven ability to develop and manage content programs through the entire project lifecycle, including strategy, planning, execution, reporting, and maintenance. Example content programs include content audits and migrations, content strategies, optimized web content development, and integrated content marketing programs that may include email marketing, social marketing, influencer marketing, etc. across multiple digital channels and platforms.
- Experience working with internal stakeholders to develop content program plans, creative briefs, and professional communications.
- Proven success managing and delivering content programs with a data-driven approach, and overall experience applying those capabilities within different web environments, such as content management systems, marketing automation systems, and social media apps.
- Experience setting and communicating priorities to project teams, while managing multiple, often fast-paced projects simultaneously.
- The professionalism, confidence and attention to detail necessary to earn the respect of client executives, peers and project team members.
The base pay range for this position in Colorado is $118k - 160k per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
