The Role…

At Soho House the Content & Communications Manager is responsible for driving the communications strategy to connect our members through Soho House’s digital platforms as well as through our physical House events. They will add value, and drive engagement and retention from the membership base in California, as well as support membership communication initiatives at a regional and global level.

The Manager will own the marketing plans for the California region, and will report into the Head of Membership & Communications. They will be based in California.

Main Duties…

  • Support membership and operational requirements with a robust cross-channel communication plan for Houses, Restaurants, Hotels, Studios and Workspaces in the region – working closely with membership, Operations Directors, and site General Managers.
  • Devise and execute strategies to drive awareness and revenue against member events, F&B, private hire and bedrooms across the region.
  • Work closely with the global member communications team to ensure consistent and on-brand messaging across global business touchpoints – including weekly and monthly member communications strategy and content.
  • Brief copywriters on all member-facing content and communications required and brief Digital Marketing team on website and app content updates.
  • Oversee printed collateral and on-site messaging to members – plus content for TV home screens in Soho House bedrooms.
  • Work closely with the Head of Membership & Communications for a house or region on content for regional Houses, Restaurants, Hotels, Studios and Workspaces to feed into the global social media content
  • Spend a portion of their time on the floor across the sites, spending time with members, supporting the Operation, answering member inquiries and driving our digital memberships, Connect and Friends

For Public Sites

  • Leverage customer communication channels to drive awareness and conversion of Soho Friends
  • Work with in-house PR team to drive awareness and press coverage for public Soho House sites
  • Plan and brief all email campaigns for public sites to the Digital Communications and CRM team.
  • Brief copywriters on all public content and communications required and brief Digital Communications team on updates to existing websites.
  • Oversee the monitoring of public listings for California sites on Yelp, TripAdvisor and other public data aggregators.
  • Work with platforms such as OpenTable to drive awareness and covers for public restaurants.
  • Work with the Digital Communications team on paid search and paid social strategy and execution for relevant business units.
  • Work closely with the Social Media team to establish social content strategy for public sites, as well as a relevant Influencer communication strategy.
  • Work closely with the partnerships team to identify new marketing opportunities including brand events and activations.

Requirements...

  • Required Skills/Qualifications:
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in relevant role(s)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive; a team player who can positively and productively tackle strategic initiatives and immediate business needs, whilst always putting the member and the customer at the heart of what we do
    • Experienced in planning and briefing email marketing and CRM campaigns
    • Excellent analytical skills and confidence in manipulating data in Excel and other tools
    • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
    • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
    • Experience and background in a hospitality or subscription business a plus
