Overview

The Branded Content Lead will own the development and production of original insights-driven - rich, relevant and resonating social concepts for sales and the implementation of cross platform content and communication for all sold campaigns.

The Branded Content Lead will collaborate with many individuals and teams, including Social, Sales, Branded Content and Brand Solutions, to ensure all branded executions fall within the social platform guidelines and that all custom content and communication are detailed across all platforms on a centralized timeline that meets client commitments.

This position will report to the Vice President of Social Media. The ideal candidate is a creative “out-of-the-box” thinker, adept in the Digital/Social space, who keeps current on cultural trends and is familiar with the BET voice and audience, is well-organized, analytical, detail-oriented, dependable with strong communication, writing and presentation skills, and can multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and define social branded content process including crafting and developing social concepts with various teams, responding to RFP’s, running pricing and legal process, tracking performance and handling timelines.
  • Coordinate, build, and schedule custom content and campaign communications including writing, editing, scheduling posts and delivering live links to confirm campaign delivery.
  • Produce, shoot, lead and guide concepts from pre-production through final delivery, including handling budget, timeline, restrictions, talent/influencer selection and various partner inputs.
  • Communicate strategy, campaign status, and performance to team and leadership.
  • Work alongside the Director(s) of Social and Tentpole Lead to define process for developing concepts (original, tentpoles and linear) for sales.
  • Writing and advising strategy to achieve against assignments and department goals of video views, engagement, impressions, etc.
  • Track, analyze and report performance, helping to find opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media standard methodologies and technologies.
  • Some travel required.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years working in social media, preferably for a television, entertainment, media or marketing company.
  • Strong digital/social background and project management skills.
  • Passionate about brand storytelling, content & industry trends, and innovations in the branded content space.
  • A highly developed understanding of tactics and strategies that optimally engage online audiences.
  • Highly organized and meticulous with excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for social media.
  • Production management and content creation skills.
  • Proactive collaborator and problem-solver with ability to lead all aspects of a project from concept to completion.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and be resourceful in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Experience with crafting content and posting across social platforms.
  • Previous experience with social CMS and publishing tools, such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite or Tweetdeck.
