We are seeking an experienced Creative Strategist to lead efforts across a few integrated (i.e. “360 marketing”) accounts. The overarching ask will be to help inform creative output through research and development of consumer insights and strategically-based brand/product/service narratives such as ‘north star statements’. This role with sit at the intersection of creative and brand strategy, with the opportunity to focus on a portfolio of high-profile CPG brands.

The candidate should be comfortable writing and delivering presentations and be comfortable serving as a bridge between research and creative teams, high-profile influencer campaigns, social media and experiential programming. The Creative Strategist must have at least 7+ years of relevant experience in a marketing agency, integrated marketing firm, creative ideation company, or for a publisher in a capacity where you helped develop content, strategies, or media plans.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Produce creative concepts and deliver creative ideas across all platforms for briefs and new business pitches
  • Establish tactical creative options, style, and tone of digital concepts and/or communications
  • Ensure materials are clear, concise and persuasive to help bring the program strategy to life
  • Ensure that project deliverables meet the needs of the client
  • Work closely with the design and copywriting teams, internal account teams and external clients to participate in all stages of the creative process, from brainstorming to conceptual development
  • Demonstrated ability to bridge the strategic and creative process, from assignment brief through activation at all stages of campaign lifecycles
  • Proven track record of setting direction and lead ideation of on-brand, forward thinking creative solutions in PR and integrated marketing
  • Strong presentation skills, ability to articulate smart and sometimes complex solutions in a straightforward and lucid manner to existing and prospective clients alike
  • Skilled at briefing and collaborating with Creative Directors and their teams
  • Reliable left brain skills and insight with regards to business, finance and economics
  • Generate original ideas for creative platforms that inspire and guide creative execution
  • Broad clients experience across business and consumer brands
  • Passionate consumer of digital media and infuse that knowledge into every aspect of the Planning process
  • Possesses a foundational understanding of how people consume media in its various forms and the psychology behind why people use platforms. Fundamentally curious and always asks: how will someone see the work? Why will s/he care? What warrants a share?
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with UEG’s values and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
  • Lead by example; demonstrate proven strong work ethic
  • Delegate effectively, setting clear expectations and deadlines, providing needed resources for project completion and monitoring progress
  • Manage down, across and up by working closely with staff and peers and by ensuring senior team members meet approval deadlines and stay on track with deliverables
  • Help motivate and coach teams to produce quality work and meet client objectives
  • Commit to continuous learning and building your technical and leadership skills through training
  • Set and pursue challenging stretch goals for yourself and your staff
  • Live the culture – and encourage staff to do so – by exploring and being active in the world outside of work, including the arts, culture, politics, literature, charitable organizations and/or other personal passions

Basic Qualifications:

  • The Digital Strategist must have at least 7 years of relevant experience in social marketing, and/or related fields including content, advertising, and consulting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage large projects—often two or more simultaneously—under extremely tight timelines
  • Demonstrated track record of managing projects where client expectations and deliverables may be unclear and/or change at a moment’s notice
  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and stay calm, positive, and productive in high-pressure situations
  • A deep understanding of the role that social and digital media plays in client’s communication mix, and working back from that to develop programs that meet business needs
  • Experience leading accounts focused on content strategy and content production, with an emphasis on social media channels
  • Someone who has a concrete history of taking visible action to provide high-quality, strategic creative outcomes and customer service to clients
  • Expertise in digital media influencer engagement across platforms
  • Creative thinking and analytical problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of great leadership and coaching abilities
  • Sound business acumen; ability to think and negotiate strategically Fun and collaborative, looking to help lead and develop a great team of passionate digital marketers
  • Consumer technology experience a plus
