Skybound Entertainment, the home to critically acclaimed global franchises including The Walking Dead and Invincible, is looking for a Community Manager to join the team. The right candidate will establish and execute Skybound’s community strategy for all editorial, gaming and ecommerce initiatives across popular channels including Reddit and Discord.

The primary goal will be to build upon Skybound’s loyal following with a focus on growth while maintaining Skybound’s brand voice. The Community Manager will follow larger digital media trends and work with the Senior Director of Social & Community to drive social conversation in a positive manner.

Reports: This position will report to the Sr. Director of Social and Community.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute Skybound’s community management strategy across all digital platforms including Reddit and Discord
  • Work with Skybound’s social media team on messaging for all announcements and campaigns
  • Oversee and work with moderators and admins for pertinent Skybound Subreddits and Discord channels
  • Contribute to brand strategies for all product launches across gaming, editorial and ecommerce
  • Establish and utilize Skybound’s community brand voice and implement it naturally within each platform ecosystem
  • Work with Social Media Producer to create unique content for the diverse Skybound communities
  • Work with Social Media Managers to create unique community programs for Skybound brands including The Walking Dead, Invincible, and Impact Winter
  • Showcasing specific content to key communities in support of business goals, including events, product launches, videos and partnerships
  • Work with brand marketing team for community events and activations including Comic-Cons, gaming conferences and entertainment trade shows
  • Oversee and work with influencer agencies and partnership divisions for community-oriented campaigns
  • Work with a can-do mindset, ready to jump on new opportunities and be fast and flexible to get the job done while maintaining acute attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and be an excellent collaborator with a passion for working across diverse groups to brainstorm creative solutions
  • Ability to interpret and follow brand guidelines

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in digital community management; gaming industry experience a plus
  • Expert understanding of digital community platforms including Discord and Reddit
  • Ability to conceptualize and execute campaigns for digital communities on platforms including Discord, Reddit, and Facebook Groups
  • Outstanding communications skills with the ability to guide, evaluate, and if necessary, redirect creative development
  • A person of the internet with an understanding of social personas and PC representations (Gen Z, Millennials, etc)
  • Livestreaming experience and being comfortable in front of an audience
  • Ability to create and document processes/proposals clearly
  • Experience with social listening tools, web analytics, and data reporting to advise on strategic shifts in content
  • Keen eye for attention to detail, grammatically minded thinking, excellent copywriting skills
  • A positive, collaborative mindset
