The Global Sourcing team is looking for a customer-obsessed people manager to lead and build out Supplier Relationships and Programs. You and your team will be responsible for determining how we best work with our base of world-class suppliers to further accelerate Amazon's rapidly-growing Private Label business.
The successful candidate will enjoy diving deep into data, developing an understanding of the underlying market segment dynamics and supply chains for multiple product categories, working with suppliers across the globe to increase operational efficiency in working with Amazon, creating new programs to grow Amazon’s business with existing suppliers, identifying defects and opportunities, and designing/implementing long-term solutions in collaboration with our external suppliers and our internal product management, tech, factory quality, and social responsibility teams. The ideal candidate will thrive in a highly collaborative, analytical, creative, and fast-paced environment. Additionally, to be successful in this role you must have the analytical horsepower to break down complex problems, a strategic mindset for developing new solutions, and a strong will to get things done and deliver results no matter the obstacles. You will be required to challenge the status quo and seek out highly scalable solutions. Finally, the candidate must also be a strong communicator and influencer, with the ability to communicate concisely and effectively with multiple stakeholders to drive meaningful change.
A day in the life
You will manage a set of global vendors for specific categories, with you and your team owning factory research, on-boarding and managing existing supplier relationships incl. cost negotiations. You will own initiatives that will enable our business to scale and drive global roadmap alignment across teams such as PM, Sourcing, Quality, Program and Compliance.

Job responsibilities
- Identification and development of relationships with key suppliers and supply chain partners.
- Build a KPI-based strategic supplier management framework to strengthen and expand collaboration with partners that meet our high-quality standards and add value to our brands.
- Drive alternative sourcing approaches such as reverse sourcing to more effectively manage and leverage existing supplier base.
- Understand global supply chains and profit drivers for a multitude of product categories.
- Partner with Product Managers, Product Development, Quality, and Social Responsibility teams to develop sourcing strategy across multiple categories.
- Identify defects and develop scalable processes/tech solutions to address and accelerate our Private Label business.
- Drive for continual improvement and innovation in our supplier identification process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve tools and productivity.
- Build, manage, and develop a team of high performers.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 8+ years in product management/product development/global sourcing/business development/project management is required.
- Proficient in Excel and SQL.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advance degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or related field.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
- Experience with Private Brands.
- High attention to detail, comfortable with “hands-on” management of tasks, and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated data-driven decision making or quantitative analysis skills.
- Proficient in Excel and SQL.
- Experience managing high-performing teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
