The VP, Communications Events will lead the strategic development, planning and execution of best-in-class events to deliver on the diverse business needs of the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products segment of The Walt Disney Company.

Responsibilities:

Lead a team of sr. level professionals responsible for the delivery of a robust slate of strategic and integrated events designed to meet the goals and objectives for a global line of businesses and for a diverse audience and platform mix.

  • Produce innovative, bespoke media, influencer, consumer B-to-B and internal events that engage, inform, influence, and excite; driving earned, owned and social buzz across all platforms.
  • Partner with key cross-company stakeholders for an integrated approach, delivering against segment and business priorities and driving significant ROI
  • Research, develop, and be a champion for innovative, on-trend and digital-first concepts integrated into the events
  • Utilize the best of technology options, including virtual, in-person, or hybrid, to deliver high-quality experiences and extend the reach
  • Manage all aspects of logistics, production, and planning of events including contract negotiations, venue preparation, run of shows, security, catering, entertainment, transportation, equipment, decor, invitation management, and guest communications
  • Ability to operate in a nimble manner in a fast changing environment
  • Lead the financial management of large-scale events with the ability to scale events and deliver on budget.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and report on event performance and ROI to demonstrate impact and inform future events
  • Ensure “Safer Together” events practices and compliance for post-COVID world

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in events management, with demonstrated success in planning and producing outstanding events on time and on budget.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in the creative development, strategic planning, operations and production of large-scale events with million dollar+ budgets
  • Knowledgeable about current trends with the ability to translate into engaging events designed to drive social and sharable content
  • A strategic mindset and flair for fresh, creative and disruptive thinking
  • Strong executive presence; ability to work with the executive team as well as to partner effectively with other areas of leadership
  • Proven experience in the management of teams, on-site and remotely
  • Ability to collaboratively drive decisions, resolve problems and advance work successfully within multi-disciplinary teams and in a highly matrixed organization
  • Ability to work effectively across the full lifecycle of event execution from creative vision to rapid development, and seamless execution
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills; with the ability to present event concepts and keep stakeholders informed during and post-events
  • Innovative, motivated self-starter with strong project management and organizational skills
  • Lead with a service oriented mindset and a keen eye to ROI
