Boomjam is changing the way that modern musicians collaborate. We make it simpler for them to work remotely, store songs, give feedback and even manage the rights to their work. We are looking for a community manager to help us develop our following through both digital and in-person settings. This includes managing Boomjam’s sponsorships, developing engagement strategies for our online communities (such as Discord), managing partnerships with other large creators (i.e. influencer marketing), and testing new engagement strategies to spread the word about our product, building out a truly engaged community.

Boomjam is a true startup at the very beginning of our journey as a business. This challenge is not for the faint of heart! Although it is an opportunity to come in at the ground floor of something truly game-changing for musicians, working at a startup requires a certain set of characteristics. We’re looking for self-guided, hard-working team members who have just as much of a passion for their craft as they do for the mission of our company. You’ll be expected to own your role. That means pushing yourself toward big achievements, evolving your work and area over time, adapting to changes with enthusiasm, championing new ideas and seeing them through to fruition. Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience successfully building digital communities on social media platforms
  • 3+ years of experience in influencer marketing - this will be key to our growth and expansion of content via social media channels.
  • You are a TikTok, Reels and Discord maniac. You are a personal user of these channels and ideally have experience managing content strategies on them as well.
  • Ideal candidates will have some experience working in the music industry

Responsibilities:

  • Manage our sponsorship budget to megaphone our brand on relevant podcasts, YouTube channels, Instagram + TikTok accounts, events, etc.
  • Run proven system for onboarding new user groups via contract on Soundbetter, Upwork or Fiverr to test the product and review it at the end of each month.
  • Manage influencer relationships for collaborative posts and cross promotion
  • Help us build a small, highly engaged Discord (or other channel of choice) community to engage our users and help them connect with each other
  • Work with our social media manager on strategies to engage and activate social media followings into advocates for our brand
  • Partner with our YouTube team to get influencer partners to guest post on our channel, social media accounts, and blog
  • Work with content team to help highlight and promote our sponsorships on the blog / website
  • Work with content team to build case studies with power users or noteworthy users from the Boomjam platform

  • A knack for finding brevity in their communication
  • Enthusiasm and passion for your trade
  • A good sense of humor
  • A talent for creating content that is not buttoned up. A light-hearted, even comedic tone is appropriate in this role. This is the music industry! It’s supposed to be fun and light.
