Vice President Marketing
JOB OVERVIEW
Soko Glam is looking for a Vice President of Marketing to lead our Brand & Creative and Performance Marketing teams, from ideation and concept phase through to launch. This position is highly cross-functional, working closely with the Merchandising, Product Development, Supply Chain, and Customer Experience teams. In addition, the VP of Marketing will be responsible for exploring trends, product innovations, identifying new market opportunities, building business cases for new launches, aligning with company objectives and prioritizing customer experience.
The Vice President position is a member of the Senior Leadership Team reporting directly to the CEO. This individual is a seasoned leader and proven manager with significant experience in growing a small business with expertise in strategic planning and marketing, budgeting, and resource management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead strategy to maximize sales of in-market product portfolio, identifying key market opportunities to drive holistic portfolio success, including consumer trends, new target audiences and new positioning
- Drive forward best in class ecommerce marketing strategy that aligns with brand objectives and KPIs..
- Contribute as an active member of the senior leadership team to overall business planning and decision making.
- Protect brand integrity and drive business initiatives through the conception and execution of innovative marketing strategies.
- Drive communications strategy across strong and integrated approach to maximize brand awareness, inclusive of Print Editorial, Digital and Social/Influencer amplification, while ensuring concrete results and improvement in rank and against set target
- Maintain profound customer intimacy and ongoing competitive intelligence in order to identify new opportunities to maximize business categories as well as reduce costs.
- Partner with Finance and develop three-year business plans, brand budgets, and ensure alignment with P&L targets.
- Recruit, manage, and develop a strong Marketing team to ensure high productivity and the achievement of all functional goals.
- Represents Soko Glam to clients, partners, and in industry events
- Conduct all other job-related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus
- Highly analytical but creatively minded; able to make data-driven decisions and establish effective metrics within core brand guidelines within the marketing strategy and spend
- 15+ years of Marketing experience with 8+ years of senior marketing leadership experience as Director of Marketing in a rapidly growing beauty / consumer-packaged goods brand
- Field expert across luxury Beauty or health and wellness
- Experience working in an omnichannel distribution and international environment
- Deep knowledge of working with major beauty retailers such as Sephora, Ulta, Target among others
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to successfully motivate and challenge a team of talented people at all levels of the company
- Possess a strong work ethic with a drive to succeed
- Ability to process and conceptualize a vast amount of information and understand and prioritize competing business needs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is critical
- Strong communication skills and ability to clearly articulate impact; ability to influence and work cross-functionally across several internal teams
- Previous relationships/interactions with key vendors and external partners
- Strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
