This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic, people focused, and fast growing marketing team in the health space.

If you love deep diving into understanding a company's marketing direction and initiative, and finding the best ways to collaborate on partnerships with influencers and celebrities, you will love this position! You will also have a team of 2-4 affiliate managers who are responsible for growing the affiliate program, and together your department will be a core initiative for overall company revenue growth. You will have support from a 15 person highly experienced marketing team, and ability to really stretch your talents.

This position is open to experienced partnership marketing managers AND/OR experienced marketing professionals from other industries who are interested in going deeper into high-level influencer and celebrity management.

We are looking for a key position for our marketing team that equally impacts both brand and revenue.

A key aspect of the Sunlighten marketing mix is the partner marketing program, which has driven growth at Sunlighten for over 20 years.

Our partners, affiliates and influencers are critical to the success of our business. The Strategic Partnerships Director is responsible for leading Sunlighten’s approach to building our portfolio of celebrity, athlete and wellness partners and influencers to support our brand growth.

This includes working cross-functionally to fully understand the marketing strategy, ensuring Sunlighten makes the most strategic, high ROI partnership investments.

It will also include identifying and engaging the best brand-building and revenue-driving partners, negotiating both paid and affiliate agreements that are mutually beneficial to the partner. You’ll need a strong marketing background to develop unique partner marketing campaigns, work to execute them with the support of the marketing team, and serve as the relationship manager with the top partners.

The Director of Strategic Partnerships has 4 strategic focuses:

  • Set the strategy and lead planning for the partner program relative to marketing goals for the company and identify new opportunities that will drive growth.
  • Deepen relationships with our current influencer and celebrity partners: Establish clear communication, ongoing support, and develop clear strategy to go deeper with partner and out marketing team.
  • Seek out new high level influencer and celebrity partnerships: Find and develop Partners/Influencers that will align well with the brand, increase our brand awareness, qualified traffic and sales.
  • Manage affiliate marketing team members (3-4 team members): provide support in managing their affiliate partners, coach on revenue growth and partnership opportunities, and manage the team with pre-set goals and metrics.

  • You have a proven track record in Affiliate or Influencer Management or have similar experience in developing business relationships, crafting win-win solutions and closing deals. (Any past sales experience is similar and relevant.)

  • You are able to work as an integral part of a Marketing team, effectively communicating needs to colleagues (such as creating campaign assets and facilitating connection to partners that can be featured in storytelling that supports the marketing strategies)

  • You have experience prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment, and delivering them on-time while meeting performance goals.
  • You’re both confident and humble. You are able to engage and interact with executives, founders, industry leaders and top influencers with confidence and assertiveness while maintaining a humble spirit and a focus on service.
  • You are organized and detail oriented. The ideal candidate can complete acumen and reporting tasks quickly while keeping their business development and growth activities as their primary focus.
  • You are willing to travel to company events a few times per year to learn about, and engage with, company programs, philosophies, and our affiliate partners. In addition, you are willing to travel to marketing masterminds, seminars, other events, etc. a few times per year to connect with existing partners and meet new ones.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in partnership marketing (or similar sales experience in developing business relationships, creating win-win solutions and closing deals)
  • Strong marketing knowledge and experience, particularly any PR work with celebrity endorsements or earned media (8+ years of marketing-related experience preferred).
  • Proven experience in negotiating and managing influencers and/or celebrity agreements.
  • Exceptional communicator (both written and verbally) with the ability to remain diplomatic even in high-stress situations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and departments, especially marketing team colleagues.
  • Ability to manage simultaneous projects and meet deadlines. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and possesses strong organization and time management skills.
  • Comfortable and has the proper equipment to appear professional on video calls

Compensation:

This position is a full time, salaried position with override compensation.

Total compensation range (salary + overrides) is: $110,000 - $150,000+ (overrides create upside potential). Compensation package determined based on experience and qualifications.
