Job Description
Role Summary
The Multicultural Marketing team is part of the Marketing department of Universal Pictures. The team is responsible for engaging across all disciplines of film marketing to identify, refine, develop and integrate strategies and tactics to enhance and enrich outreach to Latino, Black and Asian American audiences domestically.
The Manager, Multicultural Marketing will provide hands-on support in, but not limited to: Latino, Black and Asian American film publicity, field, grassroots events, digital publicity and social influencer executions. Strong relationships with entertainment media (including broadcast-TV and radio, print/online), and the ability to find, formulate and successfully be the day-to-day contact for Multicultural agencies is essential. Ability to manage internal and external relationships is key.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supports the Director, Multicultural Marketing & Publicity and EVP, Multicultural Marketing to execute specific tactics for Latino, Black and Asian American audiences that involve film publicity, word-of-mouth outreach, grassroots events, and/or social content creator executions.
- Help identify new audiences and areas of focus for Multicultural outreach and work cross-functionally to determine opportunities and marketing tactics to execute to completion.
- Oversee and manage Multicultural executions within content days, set visits, PA tours, Miami/Atlanta press days, junkets, premieres, special events, local activities, college activations, screenings, as needed.
- Act as day-to-day contact for external Multicultural marketing agencies, serving as a liaison to internal teams and other marketing disciplines.
- Retain a robust understanding of Black, Latino and Asian American media outlets as well as effective best practices to ensure proper representation of our films – including but not limited to film critics, columnists, feature writers, editors, television/radio, show hosts, producers and reporters.
- Maintain relationships with Multicultural content creators, brand/business partners, and collaborate with Universal’s Digital team on social executions.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of all Multicultural activities, breaks and tune-ins across every title for internal and filmmaker-facing publicity reports, breaks, coverage and topline recaps.
- Develop and maintain industry relationships with talent representatives including agents, managers and publicists.
- Maintain an understanding of all talent requirements – including travel, grooming, press junkets, film festivals and appearances
- Manage specific budget elements per title.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in entertainment marketing to Multicultural audiences.

Desired Characteristics
- Deep understanding of Multicultural media landscape, including Latino and Black focused television networks, digital/social partners, etc.
- Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal) preferred; not required.
- Solutions-oriented problem solver able to multi-task and prioritize across various titles, disciplines and projects.
- Ability to identify cultural moments.
- Strong organization and communication skills are required to interface effectively with internal and external parties.
