Overview

The Vice President, Communications is a key member of the Global PR and marketing team, overseeing Public Relations, Marketing, and Media activities in The Americas. In close partnership with the central teams, this position will define the local strategy, leveraging both traditional and digital, paid and earned media in an optimized mix, to develop brand awareness, maximize visibility, and create desirability for local customers.

This role is based in the New York Corporate office and reports to the President of The Americas.

Your Mission and Impact

Key Responsibilities:

Public Relations

  • Define and oversee the execution of the PR strategy based on regional business strategy and aligned with the HQ global strategy
  • Contribute to the development of wholesale PR activities in coordination with wholesale teams
  • Develop strong relationships with press and influencers to maximize the brand exposure (media coverage, On-line visibility through social media, websites and other digital tools)
  • Provide editorial results and rankings to internal and HQ communications executives
  • Quantify all public relations efforts and results for HQ team
  • In conjunction with HQ team, manage external corporate communications, assisting in the production and distribution of such materials

Events & VIP

  • Assist the VIP team in developing and following-up on key relationships with VIPs based in the market
  • Support the organization of local events, store openings, and in-store activities, including, but not limited to, image events, brand partnerships, retail and wholesale trade marketing events
  • Manage and facilitate press attendance for Men’s and Women’s runway shows in Paris, as well as organize and execute all seasonal press presentations

Media

  • Collaborate with cross functional business units in US and HQ to define media strategy in line with business priorities
  • Work with media and digital agencies to develop media plans and identify critical metrics
  • Manage all program execution including the development or localization of all assets, content and translations, issuing creative requests, managing all timelines and resources, legal approval of execution and agency contracts
  • Partner closely with E-Commerce, creative and other marketing/global communications teams to ensure programs effectively communicate the brand message and provides our consumers with an efficient cross-channel experience
  • Compile competitive analysis of media programs; make strategic recommendations on new and emerging digital and social technologies, platforms and portals
  • Monitor content on all media channels and ensure consistency, accuracy and tracking is in place to measure critical metrics

Performance Marketing

  • Execute the paid media & marketing activities, in collaboration with HQ – including, but not limited
  • Evaluate and define strategy to achieve the objectives, goals, and KPIs via the channel mix, budget allocation, targeting and creative assets, in collaboration with Communication & E-Commerce teams
  • Help define the target audience segment and develop local passion points to attract new customer
  • Monitor media performance (all campaigns & channels)

General

  • Ensure a 360° coordination on all projects with other local & HQ teams; develop a strong team spirit
  • Manage the US Communications team (starting with 2)
  • Liaise directly with US retail, wholesale, and ecommerce teams to properly align on all seasonal directives, business goals, and KPIs
  • Determine and manage the local PR/Events, Marketing & Media budgets

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years’ related experience with a focus on leading PR and media activities for a US retail organization
  • Experience working with luxury brands
  • Must have existing relationships with editors
  • Previous experience working in an international environment a plus
  • Proven experience managing events such as press presentations and store openings
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain relationships with business partners across several business matrices (i.e. local vs HQ, cross functional within brand, locally across LVMH as appropriate)
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-dimensional environment
  • Strong knowledge of digital platforms & social tools
  • Superior written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Experience in Paid Social, Paid Search, & Display – as well as background in OOH, and Print
  • Firm understanding of media landscape, influencer marketing, and overall digital trends
  • Strong understanding of paid search, social and display
  • Solid skills in the deployment of SEM campaigns, with understanding of SEO
  • Prior experience working for, or collaborating with a Media Agency
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial attitude, with ability to function in a fast-paced environment, and ability to collaborate in a matrixed team environment
  • Ability to travel when required 20% but this may vary
